Domestic tourism companies are making various efforts to achieve carbon neutrality in response to environmental threats such as global warming. This study aims to analyze examples of the tourism industry's response to global carbon neutrality and explore its implications. Carbon neutrality (net-zero) is a strategy that reduces carbon emissions while increasing carbon absorption, making the net emissions zero. This strategy is crucial for slowing down global warming, protecting ecosystems, and ensuring human survival. It is also essential for reducing the costs of climate change-related damages. The study analyzed how the domestic tourism industry is responding to carbon emission reductions in order to achieve carbon neutrality. It also compared and derived implications for the tourism industry through policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The results are as follows: first, it is important to strengthen the roles of central and local governments. Second, the development of carbon-reducing, environmentally friendly transportation is essential. Third, there is a need to establish corporate venture capital funds specialized in ESG(Environmental, Social, and Governance) and expand investments in these companies.

국내 관광기업들은 기후 온난화와 같은 환경적 위협에 대응하기 위해 탄소 중립을 위해 노력을 하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 글로벌 탄소 중립 실현을 위한 관광산업의 대응 사례분석과 시사점 고찰을 목표로 하였다. 탄소 중립 (net-zero)은 탄소 배출량을 줄이고 탄소 흡수량을 늘려, 순배출을 제로(0)로 만드는 전략이다. 이 전략은 지구온난화를 늦추고 생태계를 보호하며, 인류의 생존을 지키는 중요한 방안으로, 기후변화에 의한 피해와 관련 비용을 줄이기 위해서도 매우 중요한 의미가 있다. 연구결과, 첫째, 국내 관광산업이 탄소 중립을 달성하기 위해 어떻게 탄소 배출량 감소에 대응하 고 있는지 분석했다. 둘째, 탄소 배출량 감소를 위한 대응 정책을 통해 관광산업의 각 분야별 비교와 시사점을 도출했다. 그 결과, 첫째, 중앙 및 지방정부의 역할을 강화하는 것이 중요하다. 둘째, 탄소 저감형 친환경 교통수단의 개발이 필수적 이다. 셋째, ESG(환경, 사회, 지배구조)에 특화된 기업형 벤처 캐피털 펀드를 조성하고, 이들 기업에 대한 투자를 확대할 필요성이 제기된다.
