Objectives This study conducted a discourse analysis to find educational necessity and effective action plans for the part that has pointed out the problems of dance education from the past. Methods This research method selected a qualitative research method that was analyzed based on literature and discourse. Results In order to find a future-oriented direction for elementary dance education, teachers need to present their understanding and interpretation of the educational content from a philosophical and pedagogical point of view, and theoretical discussions are needed to become a holistic human being, rather than simply pursuing beauty. Therefore, it is necessary to demand a creative approach to the educational content and teaching methods. These efforts of understanding can reveal problem consciousness that can be directly related to measures to revitalize elementary dance education, and it is necessary to reinterpret the meaning through a change in the perspective of dance education experts and teachers. Conclusions Recognizing that there has been a general problem consciousness since the past, educational content and methods that have a sense of separation from the field do not help revitalize dance education, and teachers' perceptions should be changed so that elementary school learners can experience movement education on a daily basis in the institutional sphere beyond the demand for movement education and dismissing art education only as private education. Furthermore, it is hoped that it will expand follow-up research that can form a place for elementary school students to experience art education from a life cycle perspective.

본 연구는 과거부터 무용교육의 문제점을 지적하고 있는 부분에 대해 교육적 필요성과 효과적인 실천 방안을 모색하기 위해 담론분석을 한 것이다. 이에 본 연구방법은 문헌과 담론중심으로 분석한 질적연구 방법을 선택하였다. 이는 초등무용교육이 미래지향적인 방향성을 찾기 위해 교사들이 교육내용에 대한 이해와 해석이 철학적, 교육학적 관점에서 제시 또한 단순히 무용교육에 대한 이해가 아름다움을 추구하 는 것이 아닌 전인적 인간으로 거듭나기 위한 이론적 논의가 필요하기 때문이다. 이에 교육내용과 교수 법에 대한 창의적인 접근의 요구가 필요하다. 이러한 이해의 노력은 초등무용교육 활성화방안과 직결될 수 있는 문제의식을 드러낼 수 있으며 무용교육 전문가들과 교사들의 관점의 전환을 통해 그 의미를 재 해석할 필요가 있다. 과거부터 일반적인 문제의식이 있다는 점을 인지하면서 현장과 괴리감이 있는 교육 내용과 방법은 무용교육활성화에 도움이 되지 않으며 초등시기 학습자들이 움직임 교육에 대한 요구, 예 술교육을 사교육으로만 치부하는 것을 넘어 제도권에서 일상적으로 경험할 수 있도록 교사들의 인식이 변화되어야 한다. 나아가 초등학생들이 생애주기관점으로 예술교육을 경험할 수 있는 장이 형성될 수 있 는 후속연구의 확장이 되길 기대한다.
