The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Virtue-based ethical leadership enhancement in a baccalaureate nursing program. Crosstabs, analyses of variance, and correlational analyses were used to assess spirituality and virtue leadership scores of 84 nursing students and to determine the influence of personality traits. Spirituality was lower overall and lower among those with no religion. Spirituality was highly correlated with the ‘virtues’ of ‘justice’ and ‘temperance’ in virtue-based ethical leadership. Virtue-based ethical leadership by spirituality and personality type was higher for the virtue of ‘justice’ in the low spirituality group and higher for the virtue of ‘temperance’ in the introverted personality group(p<.00). Personality and spirituality are useful in identifying virtue leadership in competency-based curricula, and the four virtues of virtue leadership can be used in formative assessment and outcomes assessment as indicators of empowerment that honors learner autonomy.

이 연구는 간호학사 프로그램의 덕윤리 리더십 역량 교육 효과를 검정하기 위하여 시도하였다. 간호대학생 84명의 영성과 덕윤리 리더십의 점수를 평가하고 성격특성의 영향을 파악하기 위해 교차, 분산, 상관분석을 적용하였다. 영성은 전체적으로 낮았는데 무교인 경우 더 낮았다. 덕윤리 리더십의 ‘정의’, ‘절제’ 덕목과 영성은 높은 상관성을 보였다. 영성, 성격유형에 따른 덕윤리 리더십은 영성이 낮은 그룹의 ‘정의’ 덕목이 높았으며 내향적 성격의 ‘절제’ 덕목이 높았다 (p<.00). 역량기반 교육과정에서 성격, 영성은 덕윤리 리더십을 식별하는데 유용하며 덕윤리 리더십의 4가지 덕목은 학습자의 자율성을 존중하는 역량 강화 지표로 형성, 결과평가에 활용할 수 있다.
