The purpose of this paper is to examine whether 『Samguk Yusa』 can be treated as ‘Gyeongju studies’ and to find practical ways to put it into practice. Considering that the text was written by the editor Ilyeon based in the Gyeongju area, it can be clearly confirmed that it should be treated as ‘Gyeongju studies.’ Gyeongsan, his birthplace, was not only part of Gyeongju during Ilyeon’s time, but was also recognized as a region with cultural homogeneity, so the text should be included in the subject of Gyeongju studies. Since the content of the works included in the book is mostly related to Gyeongju, it can also be confirmed that it should be treated as Gyeongju studies. In addition, since the book is composed of editorials, even if the standard for judging whether the content of the work includes content that can be treated as Gyeongju studies is used, the text is judged to be sufficiently qualified to be treated as Gyeongju studies. In addition, the materials contain a lot of content that can be treated as tourism resources, and there are various practical ways to treat it as Gyeongju studies. Since the work was created in Gyeongju, the entire text can be considered good source material that can be utilized in the context of Gyeongju studies. Various cultures and figures derived from 『Samguk Yusa』 utilized by neighboring cities or other local governments can be actively utilized as tourism resources in Gyeongju and utilized as a way to put Gyeongju studies to practical use. In addition, the fact that there are sites related to the contents of 『Samguk Yusa』 located throughout Gyeongju should be utilized to develop them into tourism courses by grouping them into various themes and use them as a practical use plan.

본고는 『삼국유사』가 ‘경주학’으로 다루어도 되는지를 따져보고 그 실용화 방 안을 찾기 위한 목적을 갖는다. 텍스트는 편자 일연이 경주를 중심으로 한 지역에 기반을 두고 작성하였음을 고려한다면 ‘경주학’으로 다루어야 함을 분명하게 확인 할 수 있다. 그의 출생지인 경산은 일연 당대에 경주에 속할 뿐만 아니라 문화적 동질성을 지닌 같은 지역으로 인식되기도 하여 텍스트는 경주학의 대상에 넣어 다루어야 한다. 책에 수록된 작품의 내용이 경주와 관련된 것들이 대부분을 차지 하고 있으므로 경주학으로 다루어야 함도 확인할 수 있다. 그리고 책이 편술로 이 루어져 있으므로 작품의 내용이 경주학으로 다룰만한 내용을 포함하고 있는가에 기준을 두고 판단하더라도 텍스트는 경주학으로 다룰 자격을 충분히 갖춘 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 자료는 관광 자원으로 다룰 만한 내용을 많이 수록하고 있으며 경주학으로 다룰만한 실용적인 방안도 다양하게 갖추고 있다. 작품의 창작 현장이 경주라는 점에서 텍스트 전반은 경주학의 차원에서 활용할 수 있는 좋은 원천 자 료로 간주할 수 있다. 인접 도시나 다른 지자체에서 활용하는 『삼국유사』에서 유 래한 각종 문화나 인물도 경주에서 적극적인 관광 자원으로 활용하여 경주학의 실용화 방법으로 활용할 수 있다. 이외에도 경주에 곳곳에 자리하고 있는 『삼국유사』 수록 내용에 관련된 현장이 경주에 있는 점을 활용하여 이를 다양한 주제로 묶어내어 관광코스로 개발하여 실용화 방안으로 삼아야 할 것이다.
