Facing the Korean metaverse research enthusiasm in 2021, this study made an attempt to reconstruct the academic substance behind it on the ground of text analysis. Through a series of dialectical processes, I came to the conclusion that the productive contemporaneity of metaverse culture itself found a structural reflection in that phenomena. The methodological steps are as follows. First, I tried to show that reality and thought in the metaverse Weltanschauung acquired metaphysical totality. Second, The ontological modus of the metaverse turned out to be medial. Third, I critically examined the tendency to absolutize virtual reality, latent in the metaverse theory of Lee In Hwa under the perspective of modern media theory. Fourth, concluding this paper, the possibility of materialistic phenomenology, media conviviality, rational discursivity and utopian sociality were theoretically confirmed in the metaverse theorizations of that time. The Korean metaverse discourse in 2021 was qualified to establish an self - identity of humanities.

본 연구는 2021년 한국의 메타버스 연구열에 주목하면서 그 이면의 학술적 실체를 해당 텍스트들을 분석하는 방식으로 재구성하고자 했다. 그리고 일련의 변증 법적 과정을 거쳐 그러한 현상들에 메타버스 문화 자체의 생산적인 동시대성이 구조적으로 반영되었다는 결론을 도출하였다. 그 방법론적 단계들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 메타버스 세계관에서 실재와 사유가 체계적 방법론을 통해 형이상학적 총체 성을 획득함을 보여주고자 했다. 둘째, 그들의 메타버스관은 그 존재론적 양태가 매체적임을 살펴보았다. 셋째, 이인화의 메타버스 이론에 잠재하고 있는 가상현실 을 절대화하는 경향에 대해 현대 매체론의 관점에 입각, 비판적 고찰을 시도해 보 았다. 넷째, 본 연구를 마무리하면서 당대의 메타버스 논의 속에서 유물주의적 현 상학, 매체적 공생성, 합리적 담론성 그리고 유토피아적 사회성의 가능성을 이론 적으로 확인할 수 있었다. 2021년 한국의 메타버스 담론은 인문학적 자기 정체성 을 스스로 정립시킬 수 있었다.
