All important academic debates should be carefully synthesized in the literature of each school, and the theories of each school should be taken together to guard against their bias and strive to find integrity. Huangzong-xi(黃宗羲) is basically trying to compromise various theories and bring academic differences to peace by collecting and organizing related historical sources and literature on a significant debate in the history of Lixue(理學) during the Song-ming period. However, it can be seen that there was a tendency to lean towards it. For this reason, it is necessary to seriously examine his philosophical thinking, which is consistent with the spirit of enlightenment of the times, as well as his criticism of Cheng-Zhu(程朱) and Lu-Wang(陸王)'s psychology, as well as his modifications to both attempted in these criticisms. This study began with an attempt to examine Huangzong-xi(黃宗羲)'s views on the Song-ming Confucianism debate in 『Songyuanxue’an(宋元學案)』 and 『Mingruxue’an(明儒學案)』. Through the process of reviewing Huangzong-xi(黃宗羲)'s own analysis and criticism on major academic debates during the Song-ming period that appeared in both schools, he attempted an objective evaluation of his thoughts. To this end, the disputes on the basis of the content cited by Huangzong-xi(黃宗羲) were examined through comparative analysis with other types of historical materials. This was a method of proving the validity of his argument based on the original data related to the subject of debate, and it was a work of objectively reevaluating the academic significance of Huangzong-xi(黃宗羲)'s analysis and criticism of Song-ming's philosophy. Through this, it was possible to comprehensively grasp the science of an era, and to give a relatively accurate evaluation that fits the situation for the scholars discussed.

무릇 중대한 학술논쟁은 각 학파의 문헌을 주의하여 종합하고, 각 학파의 설을 함께 취하여 그 치우침을 경계하고 온전함을 구하는데 힘써야 한다. 송원명 시기 이학사에 있어서 적지 않은 중대한 논쟁에 대해 황종희는 기본적으로 관련 사료와 문헌의 수집 및 정리를 통해 여러 학설을 절충하고 학술적인 이동(異同)을 화회시키려는 태도를 보이고 있지만, 또한 한편으로 치우친 경향이 있었음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 이유로 정주 이학과 육왕 심학에 대한 그의 비판 및 이러한 비판 속에서 시도한 양자에 대한 개조, 아울러 개조를 통해 시대의 계몽 정신에 걸맞게 정합해 놓은 그의 철학적 사유를 진지하게 살펴야 한다. 본 연구는 『송원학안』 과 『명유학안』 에 나타난 송명 이학 논쟁에 관한 황종희의 견해를 고찰하려는 시도에서 시작되었다. 양 학안에 나타난 송명 시기의 주요 학술 논쟁에 관한 황종희 본인의 분석과 평론에 대한 검토 과정을 거쳐 그의 사상에 대한 객관적인 평가를 시도한 것이다. 이를 위해 황종희가 인용하고 있는 내용 근거의 시비를 다른 유형의 각종 사료와의 비교 분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 이는 논쟁 주제와 관련된 원자료를 기초로 삼아 그의 주장의 타당성 여부를 증명하는 방법이자, 송명 이학에 대한 황종희의 분석과 비판 내용이 가지는 학술적인 의의에 대해 객관적으로 재평가하는 작업이었다. 이를 통해 한 시대의 학술에 대해 종합적으로 파악할 수 있었고, 논의된 학자에 대해서도 실정에 부합하는 비교적 정확한 평가를 내릴 수 있었다.
