Demand for spinal medical devices is increasing due to the increase in the number of patients with spinal diseases, aging, and incorrect posture due to increased use of computers and smart-phones. Accordingly, non-surgical spinal medical devices that are preventative rather than treatment-oriented are emerging. Orthopedic correction devices, a representative item of non-surgical spinal medical devices, are in the process of being commercialized, which is very difficult, and it is difficult to prioritize important matters due to the various interests of medical professionals, developers, sellers, manufacturers, and quality managers when using the product. Therefore, in this study, we seek to find solutions for improvement factors in non-surgical spine medical devices. As a research method, we conducted a survey on the characteristics of orthopedic correction devices used in the non-surgical spine medical device market, and a survey and analysis of related patent literature and related papers. In particular, based on the approval data for orthopedic correction devices registered as grade 2 in Korea, we analyzed the operating factors according to product performance, spinal traction program, and improvement factor scale to derive improvement plans. A survey was conducted among those involved in medical devices regarding the direction of improvement plans. It is expected that this study will provide evidence that can provide strategic insight to various stakeholder in the field of non-surgical spine medical device development.

척추 의료기기는 척추질환의 환자 수 증가와 고령화, 컴퓨터 및 스마트폰 사용의 증가로 인한 올바르지 못한 자세 등의 원인으로 수요가 증가하고 있으며, 치료 중심이 아닌 예방이 가능한 비 수술 척추 의료기기가 등장하고 있다. 비 수술 척추 의료기기의 대표 품목인 정형용교정장치는 매우 어려운 제품화 과정에 있으며, 제품 사용에 있어 의료인, 개발자, 판매자, 제작자, 품질관리자 별 다양한 이해 관점으로 인해 중요한 사항의 우선순위 파악이 어 려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비 수술 척추 의료기기의 개선 요소에 대한 해결 방안의 방향성을 모색하고자 한다. 연구 방법으로는 비 수술 척추 의료기기 시장에서 사용되는 정형용교정장치의 특성에 대한 조사와 관련 특허 문헌, 관련 논문에 대한 조사 및 분석을 수행하였다. 특히 국내에서 2등급으로 등록된 정형용교정장치에 대한 허가자 료를 기반으로 제품 성능에 따른 작동 요소와 척추 견인 프로그램, 개선 요소 척도를 분석하여 개선 방안을 도출하고, 개선 방안의 방향에 대해 의료기기 관련자를 대상으로 설문 조사를 진행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 비 수술 척추 의료 기기 개발 분야에 있는 다양한 이해관계자에게 전략적인 통찰력을 줄 수 있는 근거 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.
