Industrial parks promote the economic conditions by generating social and economic benefits at the company and community levels. Industrial parks which based on industrial agglomeration or economies of scope have greatly promoted economic efficiency by resource sharing, business mutual assistance, and capacity complementarity. This paper employs shift share analysis and BCG techniques to identify factors that cause differences in export and employment performance among domestic regional industrial parks. The shift share analysis shows that for export performances the Gwangju Industrial Park is in a disadvantage to Chungbuk, Busan, Daegu, Gangwon and Incheon Industrial Parks, and is also inferior to Chungbuk, Chungnam, Daejeon, Gangwon, Busan, Daegu and Gyeonggi Industrial Parks in terms of employment performances. This study indicates that combining the results of shift share analysis and BCG analysis, competitiveness has a significant positive effect on exports and employment in the wild cats domain, a significant negative effect on exports and employment in the dogs domain, and a small positive or negative effect on in the cash cow domain.
