Research Purpose: This study aims to explore classroom activities involving the use of image-generating AI to create posters by international students. Research Content and Method: After conducting the classroom activities, a survey was used to investigate and analyze learners' perceptions. Conclusions and Suggestions: The study revealed that 69.7% of students had prior experience using text-generating AI, while this was their first time using image-generating AI. Among the learners, 90.9% found that image-generating AI was helpful for visual image representation, and 84.8% reported gaining confidence in creating visual images. Students identified the advantages of AI as producing sophisticated images, enhancing drawing skills, convenience, and efficiency. They also noted that the activity allowed them to produce diverse results and gain inspiration and creative ideas. However, some learners mentioned difficulties in inputting words and sentences into prompts. Additionally, drawbacks of image-generating AI included inconsistency and the inconvenience of needing multiple attempts to achieve the desired images. This study concludes that using image-generating AI positively impacts learners' visual expression activities and boosts their confidence. It also serves as foundational material for educators planning to conduct future classes utilizing image-generating AI.

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 이미지 생성형 AI를 활용하여 포스터를 제작하는 외국인 유학생들의 수업 활동을 진행한 후 수업활동에 관해 탐구하는 것에 있다. 연구 내용 및 방법 : 수업 활동을 진행 후 설문을 통해서 학습자의 인식을 기반으로 조사하여 분석하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 본 연구의 결과, 69.7%의 학생이 텍스트 생성형 AI를 사용한 경험이 있는 것을 나타났다. 이미지 생성형 AI 활용은 처음 활용한 것으로 나타났다. 학습자의 90.9%가 이미지 생성형 AI가 시각적 이미지 표현에 도움이 되었으며, 84.8%가 시각적 이미지 생성에 자신감을 얻었다고 응답하였다. 학습자는 AI의 장점을 고급스러운 이미지 도출, 그림 실력 보완, 편리함, 효율성 등으로 응답하였다. 활동 과정에서 다양한 결과물을 도출할 수 있었고, 영감과 창의적인 아이디어를 얻을 수 있었다고 하였지만, 프롬프트에 단어와 문장을 입력하는 부분이 어려웠다는 의견이 있었다. 또한 이미지 생성형 AI의 불편한 점으로는 일관성이 없고, 원하는 이미지 도출을 위해서는 여러 번 질문 시도를 해야 하는 번거로움 등이 나타났다. 본 연구는 이미지 생성형 AI의 활용이 학습자의 시각적 표현 활동에 도움을 주고, 자신감 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 도움을 주는 활동으로써 긍정적인 결과로 해석할 수 있다. 또한 추후 이미지 생성형 AI를 활용한 수업을 진행하는 교수자에게 기초자료로 제공될 수 있을 것이다.
