This study analyzes the liberal arts course opened for international students, and aims to derive implications through changes in interest in the course, achievement before and after the course, and perception. For analysis, an online questionnaire was conducted at the school's LMS. The questionnaire analyzed 64 respondents who took the first and second semesters of 2023 and 2024. The results of this study are as follows. First, the reason for choosing the subject was interest in Korean practical music, and it was found that interest in Korean history was not very high. Second, through this course, the achievement level of Korean music and Korean history increased, and there were many answers that they could explain recommendations and contents to other friends, indicating that they had a high understanding of the class. In addition, it was confirmed that the change in perception before and after the course was that most students’ answers were highly interested in music, and after the course, the interest in both music and history increased. Third, through an additional survey, the interest in Korea of my country’s friends was confirmed, and the interest in Korea was very high, and the K-culture was overwhelmingly interested. Based on the results of these studies, it was proposed to open complex music courses, allocate subjects according to Korean levels, and develop teaching methods and textbooks suitable for foreign students.

본 연구는 외국인 유학생 대상으로 개설된 <한국 실용음악의 이해> 교양 교과목에 관하여 분석한 것으로, 교과목에 관한 관심도, 수강 전, 후의 성취도와 인식변화를 통해 시사점을 도출하는 것이 목적이다. 분석을 위하여 교내 LMS에서 온라인 설문을 하였다. 설문은 2023, 2024학년도 1, 2학기에 수강한 64명의 응답지를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과목을 선택한 이유는 한국 실용음악에 관한 관심이었고, 한국 역사에 관한 관심은 그다지 높지 않음 을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 이 교과목을 통해 한국음악과 한국의 역사에 관한 성취도가 높아졌으며, 다른 친구에게 추천과 내용을 설명할 수 있다는 답변이 많았고, 이는 수업의 이해도가 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 수강 전, 후의 인식변화는 수강 전 대부분 학생의 답변은 음악에 관한 관심도만 높았다면, 수강 후에는 음악, 역사에 모두에 관심도가 높아진 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 본인 나라 친구들의 한국에 관한 관심도를 확인하였는데, 한국에 관심이 매우 높았으며, K-Culture에 관한 부분이 압도적으로 관심도의 이유로 차지했다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 복합적인 음악 교과목의 개설, 한국어 수준에 따른 과목 배정, 외국인 유학생에게 맞는 교수법과 교재 개발을 제안 하였다.
