This study was conducted to find out the service support needed in the community to promote social participation of people with psychiatric disabilities living in the community. To this end, a survey was conducted and analyzed targeting 219 people with psychiatric disabilities aged 18 or older living in the Chungcheongnam-do. The main research results showed that in the case of people with psychiatric disabilities who were not diagnosed with schizophrenia, the higher the need for services related to irregular education rights and labor rights, the higher the need for services related to social participation. Based on the research results, the directions for promoting social participation are as follows. First, it is necessary to expand irregular education programs and train professional instructors. Second, specialized labor rights guarantee support is needed for people with psychiatric disabilities at a young age and people with psychiatric disabilities diagnosed other than schizophrenia. Third, legal improvements are required to establish a social foundation for promoting social participation of people with psychiatric disabilities.

본 연구는 재가 정신장애인의 사회참여 활성화를 위해 지역에서 필요한 영역의 서비스 지원을 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 이를 위해 만 18세 이상의 충청남도 재가 정신장애인 219명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과 조현병으로 진단받지 않은 정신장애인인 경우, 비정규 교육권 관련 서비스 욕구가 높을수록, 노동권(고용 및 직업참여 지원) 관련 서비스 욕구가 높을수록 사회참여 관련 서비스 필요도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 중심으로 재가 정신장애인의 사회참여 활성화를 위한 방향을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비정규 교육 프로그램의 확대 및 전문 강사 인력 양성이 필요하다. 둘째, 젊은 나이의 정신장애인 및 조현병외 진단을 받은 정신장애인을 위한 특화된 노동권 보장 지원이 필요하다. 셋째, 정신장애인의 사회참여 활성화를 위한 사회적 기반을 갖추기 위해 법적 개선이 요구된다.
