The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of elementary school pre-service teachers’ participation in dance club activities. Through this, it aims to find out the meaning of personal growth and community experience. This study collected and analyzed data such as literature review and questionnaire survey. This study selected 14 elementary school pre-service teachers attending G University of Education who were participating in dance club activities as research participants. The results of this study are as follows. First, elementary school pre-service teachers’ participation in dance club activities helps their personal growth. Second, elementary school pre-service teachers’ participation in dance club activities helps their community experience. The suggestions of this study are as follows. First, in order to have meaningful dance club activities, it is necessary to investigate elementary school pre-service teachers’ dance club activities before entering the university of education and to study their attitudes and mindsets on what and how to do in their current dance club activities. Second, in order to revitalize dance clubs, universities of education need to actively provide club activity support funds, practice rooms, and performance venues, opportunities to experience various genres of dance, and guidance from experts.

본 연구는 초등학교 예비교사의 무용동아리 활동 참여 의미를 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 개인적 성장 과 공동체 경험의 의미를 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 문헌 연구와 설문지 조사 등의 자료를 수집하고 분석하 였다. 본 연구는 G 교육대학교에 재학 중인 초등학교 예비교사 중 무용동아리 활동에 참여하고 있는 14명을 연구 참여자로 선정했다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 예비교사의 무용동아리 활동 참여는 인간적 성장에 도움을 준다. 둘째, 초등학교 예비교사의 무용동아리 활동 참여는 공동체 경험에 도움을 준다. 본 연구의 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 의미 있는 무용동아리 활동을 위해 초등학교 예비교사의 교육대학교 입학 전 무용동아리 활동을 알아보고 지금의 무용동아리 활동에서 무엇을 또 어떻게 해야 하는지 태도 및 마음가짐 등에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 무용동아리 활성화를 위해 교육대학교에서는 동아리 활동 지원금, 연습실 및 공연 장소 등 적극적인 제공과 다양한 장르의 무용을 만날 수 있는 기회, 전문가의 지도 등을 제공하는 것이 필 요하다.
