The pace and process of modern technology development are becoming more than humans can imagine. Amidst these rapid changes, there are predictions that a singularity will soon arrive, where machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence. If so, we are forced to think again about what it means to be human in an era that is approaching a singularity. Ultimately, this is because technology can blur the boundaries of the human body. Technology can replicate the human nervous system, and the fusion of human consciousness and technology is becoming a reality. What the film Robocop(2014) shows the audience is that subjectivity is not something that belongs exclusively to humans or machines, but rather a process of forming a subject. Ultimately, it tells us about the crisis of human subjectivity that we have believed to be universal and solid. What the results of advanced technological capitalism show us is that subjectivity always has an aspect that cannot help but be artificial. Subjectivity can become a dynamically created construct.

현대 기술의 발전 속도와 과정은 인간이 생각할 수 있는 이상의 것이 되어가고 있다. 이러한 급격한 변화 속에서 기계 지능이 인간 지능을 뛰어 넘는 특이점이 곧 다가올 것이라는 예측이 나오고 있다. 그렇다면 특이점을 맞이하는 시대에 인간이란 무엇인가 다시금 생각해보게 된다. 결국 기술로 인해 인간 몸의 경계도 흐려질 수 있기 때문이다. 기술로 인간의 신경시스템을 복제할 수 있고 인간의 의식과 기술의 융합이 현실화되어가고 있다. 영화 『로보캅』(2014)이 관객에게 보여주는 것은 주체성이 인간 혹은 기계에게 독점적으로 속하는 것이 아니라 주체를 형성하는 과정임을 알려준다. 다시 말해서 영화 『로보캅』(2014)는 이제껏 우리가 보편적이고 확고하다고 믿었던 인간 주체성의 위기를 이야기 해주고 있다. 진보된 기술 자본주의의 결과가 보여주는 것은 주체성은 늘 인공적일 수밖에 없는 면을 지니고 있는 것이다. 기술문명 시대에 주체성은 역동적으로 만들어지는 구성체가 될 수 있다.
