This paper analyzes the unified front theory of the Korean National Liberation Alliance and Korean National Front League by considering the claims and actions of Kim Sung-suk. The KNLA was an organization formed to implement the Korean Revolution by forming the Korean National Front in China in violation of the principle of one country, one party. Initially, the organization was not completely free from the influence of class-to-class tactics, but it gradually strengthened its anti-Japanese democratic tendencies and pursued a united front theory. The KNLA materialized in 1937, when the Sino-Japanese War broke out, by forming the KNFA with the Korean National Revolutionary Party and others. The unified front theory of the KNFA, which was theorized by Kim Sung-sook, did not emphasize the federation as the center. It sought to unite anti-Japanese forces on the basis of ethnicity. The unified front it pursued was a representative democratic organization that aimed for non-capitalist development even after independence. An extension of this internal logic was reflected in the choice of Kim Sung-suk and the KNLA to join the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Chongqing as a cooperative front.
