The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consist of 17 Goals and 169 Detailed Goals that can achieve sustainable development through the harmony of economic growth, social stability and integration, and environmental preservation.　Various countries that have made economic growth their number one goal through the Industrial Revolution have come up with these goals to look back on the various problems they are facing and to suggest a direction to continue living on this planet in the future. The achievement of the SDGs means that a universal living environment for mankind is guaranteed and an active and developmental cooperative system of the international community has been properly established.　As of 2024, efforts at the global level are gradually increasing, which is expected to gain the same momentum as jet engines in conjunction with digital technologies in modern society. It is very likely that the importance of digital humanities will be emphasized in the process of implementing SDGs in the near future. SDGs, which have emerged to solve global problems, require collaboration with new disciplines as a way to achieve 17 goals.　The new field of study is digital humanities.　Each of the 17 goals is expected to provide more innovative solutions through interaction with the digital humanities, and only when the essential requirements of the future are met will the SDGs achieve their ultimate goals of all humanity and Earth prosperity, freedom, and universal peace.

지속가능발전목표(SDGs)는 경제 성장, 사회의 안정과 통합, 환경 보전의 조화를 통한 지속가능한 발전을 이룰 수 있는 17개 목표(Goals)와 169개 세부목표(Targets)로 구성되어 있다. 산업혁명을 거치며 경제 성장을 제1의 목표로 삼아 온 여러 나라들은 현재 직면한 다양한 문제점을 돌아보고 미래에 이 지구에서 지속적으로 살아갈 수 있도록 방향성을 제시하기 위하여 이와 같은 목표를 내세우게 되었다. SDGs의 달성은 곧 인류의 보편적인 삶의 환경이 보장되고 국제사회의 능동적이고 발전적인 협력 체제가 제대로 구축되었음을 의미한다. 2024년 현재, 이를 위한 글로벌 차원에서의 노력이 점차 증대되고 있는데, 이는 현대 사회의 디지털 기술과 맞물려 제트엔진과 같은 추진력을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 가까운 미래에 SDGs를 시행하는 과정에서 디지털 인문학의 중요성이 강조될 가능성이 매우 크다. 전 지구적 문제 해결을 위해 대두된 SDGs는 17가지 목표를 달성하기 위한 방법으로 새로운 학문 분야와의 협업을 필요로 하고 있다. 그 새로운 학문 분야가 바로 디지털 인문학이다. 17가지 목표는 각각 디지털 인문학과 상호작용을 통하여 보다 혁신적인 해결책을 제시해 줄 것으로 기대되며 미래의 필수적인 요구 사항을 충족시켰을 때 비로소 SDGs에서 추구하는 모든 인류와 지구의 번영, 자유와 보편적 평화라는 최종 목표를 달성하게 될 것이다.

持続可能な開発目標(SDGs)は、経済の成長、社会の安定と統合、環境保全の調和を通じた持続可能な発展を成し遂げられる17の目標と169の具体的なターゲットで構成されている。産業革命を経ながら経済の成長を第一の目標としてきた国々は現在直面した様々な問題点を顧み、未来にこの地球で持続的に生きていけるよう、方向性を提示するためにこのような目標を掲げることになった。 SDGsの達成は、すなわち人類の普遍的な生涯のための環境が保証され、国際社会の能動的かつ発展的な協力体制が適切に構築されたことを意味する。2024年現在、このためのグローバル次元での努力が次第に増大しているが、これは現代社会のデジタル技術と相まって、ジェットエンジンのような推進力が得られるものと期待される。近い未来にSDGsを施行する過程で、デジタル人文学の重要性が強調される可能性が非常に高い。 地球規模の問題解決のために台頭したSDGsは、17の目標を達成するための方法として、新しい学問分野との協業を必要としている。その新しい学問分野がまさにデジタル人文学である。17の目標は、それぞれデジタル人文学との相互作用を通じて、より革新的な解決策を提示してくれるものと期待され、未来の必須的な要求事項を満たした時、初めてSDGsで追求するすべての人類と地球の繁栄、自由と普遍的平和という最終目標を達成することになるだろう。
