With economic development, the urbanization of the rural population, especially the youth, has become a source of rural education problems. Despite the advancement of agricultural technology and various net functions of agricultural and rural resources, the phenomenon of low awareness of agriculture and rural areas has a negative impact on the realization of sustainable agriculture and rural areas. In order to solve this problem, the government has implemented various policies targeting rural areas to promote the development of rural areas. In particular, the Rural Education Farm, operated by the Rural Development Agency, operates rural education programs linked to elementary and middle school curricula. Rural education farms have attempted to differentiate themselves from rural experiences centered on one-time experiences and tourism, and to link closely with the school curriculum, but they have not been able to achieve their original educational intentions due to the one-time and uniformity of rural experiences. This paper analyzes the current status and problems of agricultural rural experience programs in Korea, and suggests implications and needs for elementary education based on the results.

경제가 발전하면서 청장년층을 중심으로 농촌인구의 도시 이동은 농촌 교육 문제의 근원이 되었다. 농업기술 고도화, 농업 ․ 농촌 자원의 다양한 순기능에도 불구하고, 농업 ․ 농촌에 대한 인식저조 현상은 지속가능한 농업 ․ 농 촌 실현에 부정적인 영향을 끼치고 있다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해, 정부는 농촌지역의 발전도모를 위하여, 농 촌지역을 대상으로 다양한 정책을 시행하고 있다. 특히 농촌진흥청 주관 하에 운영되는 농촌교육농장은 초중교과 과정과 연계된 농촌 체험 교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 농촌교육농장은 일회성 체험과 관광을 중심으로 운영 되는 농촌체험과 차별성을 두면서 학교교육과정과 긴밀한 연계를 시도하였으나 단발적이고 획일성을 띠는 농촌체 험으로 인해 본래의 교육적 의도를 달성하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내의 농업농촌 체험 프로그램 운영 현황 및 문제점을 분석하고, 결과를 바탕으로 초등교육에서의 시사점과 필요성을 제언하고자 한다.
