This study aims to identify the most effective content and method for the course ‘Creative Experiential Activities Education’ to enhance elementary pre-service teachers' competencies. Action research, which utilizes implementation and reflection to produce inductive insights, served as the methodological framework. Over an 18-month period, the course content and instructional methods were developed and revised across three steps, resulting in a curriculum tailored to the educational context of A University. Reflections during the process highlighted that pre-service teachers derived significant educational value from acquiring conceptual knowledge of creative experiential activities, understanding the national curriculum, gaining teaching experience, and engaging in classroom observation. The findings of this action research regarding the content and methods of the ‘Creative Experiential Activities Education’ course are anticipated to benefit not only the researcher’s future instructional efforts but also provide a valuable reference for educators preparing lectures on creative experiential activities. Based on the study's outcomes, the following recommendations are proposed: ongoing discussion regarding essential knowledge areas for the course, dissemination of case studies on creative experiential activities from school settings to inform pre-service teachers and instructors, development of student-centered teaching methodologies, revision of curricula and credit systems in teacher education institutions, and provision of sustained incentives and support for research on university instruction.

본 연구는 초등 예비 교사의 창의적 체험활동 역량 증진을 위한 ‘창의적 체험활동 교육론’ 과목에 적합한 내용과 방법을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으로는 반복적인 실행과 성찰을 통해 귀납적 결론을 생성하는 실행연구를 활용하였다. 약 1년 6개월 동안 3번에 걸쳐 과목의 내용과 방법을 개발하고 수정하였으며 그 결과 A 교육대학교의 맥락에 적합한 과목의 내용, 수업 방법, 평가 등을 도출할 수 있었다. 성찰을 통해서는 창의적 체험활동의 개념적 지식, 국가 교육과정 지식, 모의 수업 경험, 참관 경험 등이 예비 교사에게 교육적인 의미가 있다는 점을 확인하였다. 실행연구를 통해 드러난 ‘창의적 체험활동 교육론’ 과목의 내용과 방법은 향후 연구자의 교육 활동에 활용될 뿐만 아니라 창의적 체험활동을 주제로 강의를 준비하는 교수자들에게 유용한 참고 자료가 될 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하여 ‘창의적 체험활동 교육론’ 과목의 필수 지식에 관한 지속적인 논의, 예비 교사와 교수자를 위한 학교 현장의 창의적 체험활동 운영 사례 보급, 학생 중심 수업 방식 개발, 교육대학교의 교육과정과 학점 개편, 대학 수업 연구에 관한 지속적 인센티브와 지원 제공 등을 제언하였다.
