Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) represents a novel strategy aimed at tackling the intricate mobility challenges faced by contemporary society while offering innovative transportation solutions through the integration of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Regional Air Mobility (RAM), and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Recent research highlights AAM’s potential in mitigating issues related to urbanization and traffic congestion, with projections indicating that the UAM market may reach $3.58 billion by 2023, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34.2%. This paper examines the critical components of AAM and delineates the necessary police response strategies, emphasizing the importance of safety supervision, regulatory compliance, and accident prevention and response as pivotal functions for law enforcement in the context of AAM. Given the increasing use of drones as weapons in recent conflicts, there is heightened interest in counter-drone measures, leading us to propose a preliminary framework for anti-AAM strategies in the event of future misuse as weaponry. The findings of this study lay the groundwork for understanding the future trajectory of AAM development, its practical applications, and the role of police response, with suggestions for subsequent research to delve deeper into aspects not covered here through expert interviews and analysis of relevant industries.

미래 항공 모빌리티(Advanced Air Mobility, AAM)는 도심 항공 모빌리티(Urban Air Mobility, UAM), 지역 항공 모빌리티(Regional Air Mobility, RAM), 무인 항공 시 스템(Unmanned Aircraft Systems, UAS) 등 여러 요소를 통합하여 현대 사회의 복잡한 이동 문제를 해결하고 혁신적인 교통 솔루션을 제공하기 위해 설계된 새로운 접근 방 식이다. 최근의 연구에 따르면, AAM은 도시화와 교통 혼잡 문제를 해소하는 데 효과 적일 것으로 기대되며, 2023년 UAM 시장은 35억 8천만 달러로 평가되며 연평균 34.2% 의 성장률을 기록할 것으로 예상된다. 이 논문에서는 AAM의 구성 요소에 대한 분석 및 경찰의 대응 방향을 모색하였다. 즉, AAM에 대한 경찰의 역할을 명확히 하여 안전 감독, 규제준수, 사고예방 및 대응이 필수적 요소임을 제시하였다. 특히, 드론이 최근 전쟁에서 무기로 사용되면서 안티드론에 대한 관심이 높하지고 있다. AAM도 향후 무기로 악용될 경우에 대비한 가칭 안티AAM을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 AAM의 향후 발전 방향과 실질적 적용 가능성, 경찰의 대응 방안을 탐색 할 수 있는 기초를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. 후속연구에서는 전문가 인터뷰 및 관련 기업 등에 대한 분석을 통해 본 연구에서 다루지 못한 부분에 대한 보다 심도있는 논의가 있어야 할 것이다.
