At the end of 2019, a global pandemic brought significant changes in the education sector. One of the most notable changes was the rapid transition from traditional face-to-face classes to non-face-to-face classes. Additionally, there has been a shift from paper publishing to digital publishing, with a partial transition to digital textbooks expected from 2025 onwards. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the decline in population will exacerbate the decrease in paper publishing. During the period when face-to-face classes were prohibited, sales of paper learning materials generally increased temporarily as an alternative to classes. However, with the end of the pandemic and the establishment of digital publishing, coupled with population decline, there has been a fluctuation in the production and sales of paper publications, showing a trend of increase followed by decrease. In such challenging circumstances, we aim to identify incidents (problems) occurring during the textbook production process and propose management strategies to prevent them. The purpose of the study is to reduce production issues by suggesting management plans so that publishers and printing companies can minimize costs incurred due to existing issues. For this study, we analyzed the types of production incidents at our headquarters over the past four years and conducted a survey among production partners engaged in business with our headquarters, spanning prepress, press, and postpress processes. Survey questions were formulated based on problems experienced in the field and the types of incidents within our company. Through this, we aim to identify the causes and outcomes of problems for each part and develop production management plans tailored to each publisher and printing company to reduce costs incurred due to production issues.

2019년 말, 전 세계적인 팬데믹이 교육 분야에 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 가장 두드러진 변화 중 하나는 전통적인 대면 수업에서 비대면 수업으로의 급격한 전환이다. 또한, 종 이 출판에서 디지털 출판으로의 변화가 진행 중이며, 2025년부터 디지털 교과서로의 부 분적인 전환이 예상된다. 더 나아가, 인구 감소로 인해 종이 출판의 감소가 더욱 가속 화될 것으로 보인다. 대면 수업이 금지된 기간 동안 종이 학습 자료의 판매는 수업의 대안으로 일시적으로 증가했으나, 팬데믹 종료와 디지털 출판의 정착, 그리고 인구 감 소가 맞물리면서 종이 출판물의 생산과 판매는 증가 후 감소하는 변동성을 보이고 있 다. 이러한 어려운 상황에서 본 연구는 교과서 제작 과정에서 발생하는 문제를 파악하 고 이를 예방하기 위한 관리 전략을 제안하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구의 목적은 출판사와 인쇄사가 기존 문제로 인해 발생하는 비용을 최소화할 수 있도록 생산 관리 계획을 제안함으로써 생산 문제를 줄이는 데 있다. 본 연구에서는 지난 4년 동안 본사에서 발생한 생산 문제의 유형을 분석하였고, 본사 와 거래 중인 생산 파트너(프리프레스, 인쇄, 후가공 과정)에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하 였다. 설문 문항은 현장에서 경험한 문제와 본사내에서 발생한 문제 유형을 바탕으로 구성되었다. 이를 통해 각 과정에서 발생하는 문제의 원인과 결과를 파악하고, 출판사 와 인쇄사별로 맞춤형 생산 관리 계획을 수립하여 생산 문제로 인해 발생하는 비용을 줄이는 것을 목표로 하였다.
