For this thesis, I have organized the results of performances and studies done in Korean Traditional Dance Festival held for rediscovery of the value of JungGoJe Traditional GaMuAk music by Yeon Nack-jae and Commemoration Service Society of Korean Dance Culture Heritage. The academic symposiums and seminars taken during the festival did not only gain the study results of Han Sung-joon and Sim Jeong-soon school but also publish a book about such results by recording while discussing the meaning of such results. They dealt with especially not only the value of, meaning of and how to use newly excavated and collected rare materials but also what to study more about JungGoJe traditional GaMuAk music in the future. Commemorating the 140th anniversary of the birth of Han Sung-joon in 2014, I established Korean Traditional Dance Festival. First in this thesis, I arrange the recordings of performances and studies from the festival chronically. I deal with the meaning of the performances designed every year under unique concepts and the subjects discussed in the academic discourse field, especially talking over the recording book of performances, the book of studies, the book of US spot survey results, a variety of photo books, and etc. Through the review on the results of the studies done for rediscovery of the value of JungGoJe traditional GaMuAk music, last in this thesis, I suggest several projects: collection and arrangement of the materials relevant to the school of Han Sung-joon and Sim Jeong-soon who are the leading figures of JungGoJe traditional GaMuAk music, study on the old discs created with Han Sung-joon participating as a drummer, collection and study of the materials relevant to traditional entertainments and JaeYin style entertainers’ activities, further deep study on the school of Han Sung-joon and Sim Jeong-soon who are the great masters of JungGoJe traditional GaMuAk music originated from Naepo region and study on Cho Taek-won and Choi Seung-hee who led the extension of dance field horizon to new dance fields. I also emphasize the necessity of such collection, arrangement and studies.

본 논문은 중고제 전통가무악의 가치 재발견을 목적으로 연낙재·한 국춤문화유산기념사업회 주최로 열린 대한민국전통무용제전에서 진행 된 공연 및 학술 성과를 정리한 것이다. 학술심포지엄 및 세미나에서 논의된 한성준·심정순 일가에 대한 연구성과를 비롯 기록화를 통한 단 행본 발간과 그 의미에 대하여 다루고 있다. 특히 새롭게 발굴, 수집한 희귀자료의 가치와 의의 및 활용방안 그리고 향후 중고제 전통가무악의 연구과제에 대해서도 언급하였다. 우선, 2014년 한성준 탄생 140주년을 기념하여 대한민국전통무용제 전을 창설하여 공연·학술·기록화한 성과물을 연도별로 정리 서술하 였다. 매년 독창적 콘셉트로 설계한 공연의 의미와 학술 담론의 장에서 다뤄진 논제를 자세히 다루고 있다. 특히 공연내용을 다룬 기록집을 비 롯 학술 연구내용을 묶은 단행본, 미국 현지조사 결과를 담은 단행본, 각종 화보집 등에 대한 내용을 서술하고 있다. 마지막으로 중고제 전통가무악의 가치 재발견을 위한 연구 성과 검 토를 통해 몇 가지 과제를 제시하고 있다. 예컨대, 중고제 전통가무악의 중심 인물인 한성준·심정순 일가에 대한 관련 자료수집 및 정리, 한성 준이 고수(鼓手)로 참여하여 남긴 고음반에 대한 연구와 전통연희 및 재인계열 활동에 대한 자료수집 및 연구, 나아가 내포지역에서 발원한 중고제 전통가무악의 양대 산맥인 한성준·심정순 일가에 대한 심층 연 구를 비롯 신무용으로의 지평확산을 주도한 조택원·최승희 등에 대한 연구의 필요성을 역설하였다.
