Objectives: This study analyzes oral symptoms among middle and high school students using data from the 17th Youth Health Behavior Survey and assesses how various factors affect these symptoms. Methods: The study includes 54,848 students, with data analyzed using SPSS 25.0. A frequency analysis was used to assess general and health-related characteristics, while chi-square tests examine the effects of sex, grade, alcohol use, smoking, and stress on tooth and gum pain. A logistic regression was used to analyze the effects of specific characteristics on oral symptoms. Results: Female and high school students report more tooth pain. Alcohol and smoking are linked to increased tooth pain, while lower stress perception and health dissatisfaction increase the likelihood of oral symptoms. Consuming sugary drinks three or more times a week raises the risk of tooth and gum pain, and a lack of nutritional education in schools is associated with more frequent gum pain. Conclusions: These findings emphasize the need for policies to prevent oral health issues and improve oral health education for adolescents.
