Objectives: This study aimed to systematically review factors that affect the political participation process in the nursing profession and to conduct a meta-analysis of these factors. Methods: Articles published in Korean were collected, based on specific search terms, and converted into a numerical database. We then completed data extraction, quality assessment, and analysis, including a systematic review and meta-analysis. Results: The review included 14 studies, and the meta-analysis included six studies. We identified eight factors affecting political participation among Korean nursing professionals, categorized into four sub-factors: orientation, stimuli, outcome orientation, and response. In the meta-analysis of six articles, the total effect size (ESr) was .36, with effect sizes of .21 for orientation factors and .43 for outcome orientation factors. The main factors were .51 for political interest and .43 for political efficacy. Conclusions: Nurses with high political interest are more likely to engage in political activities. Based on these findings, educational institutions for the nursing profession should enhance political interest and efficacy through education to encourage political participation.
