Objectives: This study examined the effects of participating in a health promotion program at a welfare center on the basic physical strength, depression, and stress of older adults. Methods: Twenty-seven older adults from the welfare center engaged in a 12-week health promotion program, with data analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 27.0 software. The program's effectiveness was assessed using specific survey tools for basic physical strength, depression, and stress, and a Wilcoxon signed-rank test was conducted to compare pre- and post-program evaluations. Results: The data confirmed a positive correlation between the health promotion program and improvements in the basic physical strength, depression, and stress levels of older adults. First, participation in the program resulted in statistically significant improvements in four out of six physical strength factors (p < .05). Second, the program significantly reduced depression and stress levels (p < .05). Conclusions: Health promotion programs should be implemented in community welfare centers, and the scope of health promotion activities in the social welfare sector should be expanded to cover various areas.
