This paper aims to illuminate the origin and spirit of the chosen Korean people as reflected in the creation myth of Budoji (符都誌). It adopts two theological premises from the perspective of True Parent Theology. The first premise is that if the chosen people of Israel and Korea share a common root, then a creation myth comparable to the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament must exist to instill a sense of identity in the chosen Korean people. The second premise is that the creation myth of the chosen Korean people, cultivated for the birth of the Only-Begotten Daughter, must embody features that anticipate her emergence. From this perspective, a comparison between the Garden of Eden narrative in Genesis and the creation myth in Budoji revealed many similarities, such as the Creator, the method of creation, the laws of creation, and the fall of humanity. However, two key differences were identified. First, the Creator in Budoji is not a masculine God but the Mother God Mago. Second, while the ancestors of humanity are expelled by God in Genesis, the leader of humanity in Budoji takes responsibility on their own and promises restoration (復本). This paper interprets these features to suggest that the consciousness of the chosen Korean people inherently carries an inevitable and destined goal: the preparation for the birth of the Only-Begotten Daughter, who resembles Mother God Mago, and the fulfillment of the responsibility for restoration, culminating in the manifestation of the True Parents.

본 논문은 『부도지』(符都誌)의 창세신화에 담긴 한민족 선민의 기원과 정신을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 참부모신학의 관점에서 두 가지 신학적 전제를 두었다. 첫째는 이스라엘 선민과 한민족 선민이 같은 뿌리에서 나왔다면 한민족 선민의 기원에 구약성경 창세기에 비견할 수 있는 창세신화가 있어서 선민의 정체성을 심어주어야 한다는 점이고, 둘째는 독생녀 탄생을 위해 길러온 한민족 선민의 창세신화에는 독생녀 탄생을 예비하는 특징이 있을 것이라는 점이 다. 이러한 맥락에서 구약성경 창세기 에덴동산 이야기와 『부도지』의 창세신화를 비교한 결과 창조주, 창조방식, 창조법칙, 타락 등 많은 부분에서 공통점을 찾을 수 있었던 한편, 다음과 같은 주요한 차이점 두 가지를 발견할 수 있었다. 첫째, 『부도지』의 창조주는 남성적 신이 아닌 어머니신 마고인 점이고, 둘째, 에덴동산에서는 인간 시조가 신으로부터 쫓겨나지만 『부도 지』에선 인류의 수장이 스스로 책임을 지고 복본(復本)을 약속하였다는 점이다. 본 논문은 이러 한 특징을 통해 한민족 선민의 의식 속에는 어머니신 마고를 닮은 독생녀 탄생 및 참부모 현현의 준비, 복본의 책임을 다하려는 필연적, 숙명적 목표가 내재해 있다고 해석하였다.
