The CAMPUS Asia program, initiated through diplomatic collaboration among South Korea, China, and Japan, aims to foster global leadership in East Asia by promoting student mobility and the internationalization of higher education. As a cornerstone initiative, it encourages intercultural understanding through educational and cultural exchanges among students from the three nations. This study explores the program’s developments since its inception in 2011, based on insights drawn from interviews with 17 consortium directors. By identifying key aspects requiring attention, it suggests thoughtful approaches to program enhancement and expansion. Using a semi-structured qualitative methodology, data were collected and analyzed during August and September 2020. The findings underscore the importance of reinforcing trilateral cooperation, broadening opportunities for student mobility, and fostering greater integration within the region’s higher education systems to enhance Asia's talent competitiveness and align with global standards in higher education.
