Background: The aim of this study was to adapt an overseas emotional intelligence scale into a Korean version suitable for dental hygienists and to verify its validity and reliability. Methods: A survey was conducted with 385 dental hygienists. Construct validity was evaluated through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). In addition, convergent and discriminant validity were assessed, and reliability was verified. Results: In the exploratory factor analysis, three items were removed, resulting in a final set of 13 questions. The subfactors comprised three dimensions: “sensitivity regulation,” “sensitivity awareness,” and “sensitivity belief.” The model fit was validated through confirmatory factor analysis (CMIN/DF=2.541, GFI=0.945, TLI=0.936, CFI=0.949, RMSEA=0.063). Convergent validity (r=0.899, p<0.001) and discriminant validity (AVE=0.992\u20130.994) were deemed appropriate. Reliability was high, with Cronbach’s α at 0.898. Conclusions: This scale provides a foundational tool for developing programs aimed at enhancing emotional intelligence and managing emotional labor among dental hygienists. It is expected to support various initiatives to strengthen individual capabilities.

연구배경: 본 연구는 국외 감성지능 도구를 치과위생사를 위한 한국어판 측정도구로 재구성하여 그 타당도와 신 뢰도를 검증하고자 한다. 연구방법: 치과위생사 385명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인으로 구성타당도를 확인하였다. 또한 수렴 타당도, 판별타당도를 확인하고 신뢰도 검증으로 결과를 도출하였다. 연구결과: 대상자 185명의 탐색적 요인분석 결과 3개의 문항이 삭제되어 총 13문항으로 추출되었다. 하위요인은 ‘감성조절’, ‘감성인식’, ‘감성믿음’의 3개 요인으로 구성되었고 확인적 요인분석으로 모형의 적합도를 확인하였다 (CMIN/DF=2.541, GFI=0.945, TLI=0.936, CFI=0.949, RMSEA=0.063). 수렴타당도(r=.899, p＜.001) 및 판별타당도 (AVE=0.992-0.994)을 통해 적절성을 확인하였으며 신뢰도 수준 Cronbachʼs α는 0.898이었다. 결론: 치과위생사를 대상으로 감정노동 및 감성지능 증진을 위한 다양한 프로그램 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 것 이며 개인의 역량을 강화시키기 위한 다양한 프로그램에 적용 될 것이다.
