배경: 우리나라는 2025년도에 초고령 사회에 진입하게 된다. 점점 증가하는 고령자들을 상대로 사회복 지실천 현장에서 돌봄서비스를 실천하는 요양보호사들의 역할이 중요하게 대두되고 있다. 특히 돌봄서 비스 질에 대한 어르신들의 요구와 요양보호사의 공감능력, 직업소명의식, 인권의식 등에 대한 사회적 요구가 커지고 있음에도 불구하고 요양보호사의 처우개선과 돌봄서비스의 질 강화가 큰 진전을 이루지 못하고 있어서 이 부분에 대한 연구의 필요성을 느낀다. 목적: 본 연구는 요양보호사의 공감능력과 직업소명의식, 인권의식이 높아짐으로 돌봄서비스 질이 개선 되고, 돌봄서비스를 받는 주대상자인 고령노인들의 삶의 만족도가 높아지길 바라는데 목적이 있다. 방법론/접근: 조사연구 대상자는 서울특별시와 경기도, 충남대전, 전라북도 등에 소재한 복지시설에서 활동 중인 300명의 요양보호사들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구 독립변수로는 요양보호사의 공 감능력, 직업소명의식, 인권의식으로 설정하였고, 돌봄서비스 질을 종속변수로 하였으며, 설문조사 방식은 공신력 있는 설문을 실시하기 위하여 유의표집 및 임의표본추출방식으로 표집하였다. 본 연구에서 수 집한 자료는 SPSS 25.0 및 Amos 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과/결론: 성별에 따른 주요 변수의 차이는 여성이 남성에 비해 돌봄서비스 질 강화가 더 쉽게 이루어 지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 요양보호사의 공감능력, 직업소명의식, 인권의식이 유의미한 차이가 있게 나타났으며, 여성요양보호사가 남성요양보호사보다 고객지향성이 높고, 요양보호사의 공감능력, 직업소 명의식, 인권의식에 대한 사회적 요구의 차이에 따라 어르신들의 돌봄이 달라질 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 시사점: 사회복지실천 현장에서 종사하는 요양보호사들의 처우가 개선되고, 돌봄서비스 질이 강화되어 노인들의 돌봄의 질도 더불어서 강화되어질 수 있기를 기대하며, 시설돌봄을 지나치게 강조하여 가족 돌봄의 중요성과 효 심이 희석된 이 시대에 효심 회복과 효 활성화 차원에서의 행정적, 정치적 서비스 전달체계가 구축되어 통합 서비스화 되어지길 시사하게 된다.
