The purpose of this study is to explore the ethical issues and directions of eSports. To this end, literature and previous studies related to eSports ethics were reviewed. The results are as follows: First, the ethical issues in eSports include match-fixing, doping among esports players and alternative measures, student rights issues in eSports, and surveillance and regulation related to eSports. Ethical issues examined include the fairness of the games, the right to education for student players, copyright in eSports, and the health rights of players. Second, the direction of eSports ethics requires efforts and dedication from both individuals ethics and social ethics. On an individual ethics, it is important to strengthen and practice ethical awareness. On a social ethics, it is necessary to establish systems and policies related to eSports. Through this, a sustainable path for eSports can be achieved. Future research tasks include fair game management, ethical issues in the digital environment, establishing ethical standards for eSports, digital technology and eSports ethics, the role of rules and referees, the identity of eSports and the essence of eSports, permanence, and new sub-disciplines.

이 연구의 목적은 e스포츠의 윤리적 쟁점과 방향을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 e스포츠 윤리에 관련된 문헌과 선행 연구를 고찰하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, e스포츠의 윤리적 문제는 e스포츠와 승부조작, e스포츠와 도핑, e 스포츠와 인권, e스포츠와 관련된 감시와 규제 등이 있으며 윤리적 쟁점으로 e스포츠대회와 경기의 공정성, e스포츠 학생 선수의 학습권, e스포츠의 저작권, e스포츠 선수의 건강권 등을 알아보았다. 둘째, e스포츠 윤리의 방향은 다음 과 같다. 개인윤리 차원에서는 e스포츠 선수들의 윤리의식으로 도덕적 자율성을 강화하고 온라인에서 윤리를 실천하 는 것이 중요하며, 사회윤리 차원에서는 e스포츠에 관련된 제도개혁과 정책을 정립하는 것이다. 이를 통해서 지속 가 능한 e스포츠 생태계를 마련할 수 있을 것이다. 차후의 연구과제는 다음과 같다. 공정한 e스포츠대회 운영, 디지털 환경에서의 윤리적 문제, e스포츠의 윤리적 기준 정립, 디지털 기술과 e스포츠 윤리, e스포츠 규칙과 심판의 역할, e 스포츠의 정체성과 e스포츠의 본질, 영원성과 새로운 세부 종목 등이 있다.
