The purpose of this study is to provide foundational data for Korean cultural education by analyzing the needs of Vietnamese international students enrolled at four-year universities in Korea. A survey was conducted among 138 Vietnamese students studying at B University in Busan to examine their demands for cultural education. The findings reveal that Vietnamese students prefer experiential learning methods to understand Korean culture. They expressed a strong desire for courses that integrate Korean language learning with cultural education, rather than standalone cultural courses. Among various cultural elements, "daily life practices" of Koreans were the most desired topic, with particular interest in "linguistic practices." Conversely, "historical figures" were the least preferred, indicating a focus on practical and applicable cultural aspects. Additionally, statistically significant differences were observed in cultural preferences based on variables such as study duration and gender. This study holds significance as it highlights the cultural education needs of Vietnamese students, who form a substantial portion of the international student population in Korea, and provides a foundation for developing tailored educational programs. Further research is recommended to systematically incorporate diverse variables to better address the cultural education needs of Vietnamese international students.

본 연구는 국내 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 베트남 유학생을 대상으로, 한국 문화 교육에 대한 요구를 분석함으로써, 한국문화 교육의 기초 자료를 제 공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 부산의 B대학교에 재학 중인 베트남 유학생 138명을 대상으로 문화 교육 요구에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 베트남 유학생들은 체험을 통해 한국문화를 배우고 싶어 하였으며, 한국문화만 단독적으로 배우는 수업 대신 한국문화를 배우면서 한국어 학습도 함께 진행하는 수업을 희망하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 베트남 유학 생들이 가장 배우고 싶은 문화 요소는 한국인의 ‘일상생활’이었다. 그중에 서도 ‘언어생활’에 대한 선호도가 가장 높은 반면에 ‘역사 인물’에 대한 요 구도는 가장 낮게 나타나, 학습자들에게 실제성이 높은 요소에 관심이 큰 것을 알 수 있었다. 한편 학습 기간과 성별에 따라 희망하는 문화 요소에 통 계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내에서 높은 비중을 차 지하고 있는 베트남 유학생들의 문화 교육 요구를 조사하여 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 보다 다양한 변인들을 체계화한 연구들 이 진행되어 베트남 유학생들의 요구를 반영할 수 있는 한국문화 교육이 이루어질 수 있길 바란다.
