This study focuses on Chinese-Korean cooperative engineering educational institutions established at Chinese universities, specifically those with the largest number of institutions and students. It examines the current state of Korean language education at these institutions and proposes directions for improvement. Since Korean language education at these institutions targets engineering students, this study first identifies the characteristics of Korean for Engineering Purposes(KEP) and organizes a classification system based on learning purposes. For the analysis of the current situation, 15 representative institutions were selected to review the assignment rate, course scheduling, and teaching methods of Korean instructors from partner Korean universities. The structure, textbooks, and syllabi of related Korean language courses were also inspected, and their issues and areas for improvement were discussed. For future directions, this study proposes five key measures: the establishment of KEP curriculum, the application of Korean language teaching models aligned with the timing of major course offerings, linking students’ Korean learning purposes with the format of engineering courses, the development of customized Korean language textbooks, and the reflection of the characteristics of the engineering academic community in KEP syllabi.

본고는 중국 대학 내에서 설치된 중한합작운영 교육기관 중 기관 및 학생 수가 가장 많은 공학계열 교육기관에 초점을 맞추어 해당 기관 한국어 교육과정의 운영 현황을 고찰하고 개 선 방향을 제언하였다. 해당 기관에서의 한국어교육은 공과대학생을 대상으로 이루어지므로 먼저 공학 한국어(KEP)의 성격을 규명하고 학습 목적에 따른 분류 체계를 정리하였다. 현황 분석을 위해 사례 기관 15개소를 선정하여 기관별 한국측 교수진 담당과목의 배정률, 개설 시기, 수업 형태를 살펴보았다. 이와 연계되는 한국어 교과목의 체계, 교재, 교수요목을 점검 하고 그 문제점과 개선점을 논의하였다. 앞으로 나아갈 방향으로 본고는 공학 한국어 교육과 정 개설, 전공과목의 개설 시기에 맞춘 한국어 교육 모형 적용, 학생의 한국어 학습 목적과 공학 수업의 형태 연계, 맞춤형 한국어 교재 개발, 공학 한국어 교수요목에 공학계열 학문공 동체의 특성 반영 등 5가지를 제언하였다.
