This study examines suicide from a missiological perspective. Utilizing data from the 2021 Korean General Social Survey, the study identifies factors influencing suicidal attitudes and explores prevention strategies of missional churches. The findings reveal that trust in public institutions negatively impacts attitudes toward suicide in cases of ‘terminal illness’ and ‘bankruptcy’. In contrast, social activity is associated with more permissive attitudes toward suicide in extreme situations. Increased trust in others during ‘terminal illness’ correlates with a higher acceptance of suicide. Among Buddhists, frequent religious participation and stronger beliefs are linked to greater acceptance of suicide in ‘terminal illness’ scenarios. To address these issues, churches should enhance religiosity, provide spiritual care, adopt a community-centered missional approach, and emphasize their role in societal transformation.

본 연구는 자살문제를 선교적 관점에서 접근하고자 했다. 자살에 미치는 영향요인을 파악하기 위해서 2021 한국종합사회조사의 데이터를 분석한 결과, 공공기관에 대한 신뢰는 ‘불치병’이나 ‘파산’ 상황에서 자살을 허용하 는 태도에 부적 영향을 주었다. 반면, 사회활동은 극단적인 상황(불치병, 파 산)에서 자살 허용 태도가 증가했다. 또한, ‘불치병’ 상황에서 사람에 대한 신 뢰가 높을수록 자살에 허용하는 태도가 증가했다. 종교성의 경우, 불교 신도 중 종교 행사에 자주 참석하고 믿음이 강한 이들은 ‘불치병’ 상황에서 자살 허용 태도가 증가했다. 선교적 관점에서 교회는 영적 돌봄을 제공하고, 공동 체 중심과 현장 중심의 선교적 접근을 취해야 한다. 또한, 자살 문제에 통전 적으로 접근하고, 사회 변화를 위한 책임을 강조할 필요가 있다
