The purpose of this paper is to pay attention to the mode of existence of all things in the universe through the animism of the Far Eastern indigenous peoples, and to seek ways to cooperate across species, alternative ways of life for the coexistence and prosperity of humanity, and new ways of life in which humans can coevolve with the Earth and the universe, and to reinterpret animism as a new intellectual that can play a desirable role in a highly developed scientific and technological and hyper-globalized capitalist society. According to the animism of the indigenous peoples of the Far East, the Earth and the universe are not a collection of simple entities, but complex, dynamic, and integrated living beings that are constantly evolving. Just as humans experience the world by encountering it, non-human beings also experience the world by looking at the Earth and the universe from their own unique perspectives. In other words, animism is not about sanctifying nature and worshipping it unconditionally, but is a system of thought about the relationship between humans and all things in the universe, and at its root is a worldview of symmetry and an ecological worldview.

본 논문의 목적은 극동 토착종족의 애니미즘을 통해 우주만물의 존재 양식에 관심을 기울이면서 종을 횡단하여 서로 협력할 수 있는 방안, 인류의 공생공영을 위한 대안적 삶의 방안, 인간이 지구, 우주와 공진화할 수 있는 새로운 삶의 양태를 모색하고, 애니 미즘을 고도로 발달한 과학기술과 초글로벌화 된 자본주의사회에서 바람직한 역할을 할 수 있는 새로운 지성으로 재해석하기 위한 것이다. 극동 토착종족의 애니미즘에 의하면 지구와 우주는 단순한 개체들의 합집합이 아니라 끊임없이 진화하는 복잡하고, 역동적이고, 통합적인 생명체이다. 인간이 세계와 마주하면서 세계를 경험하듯이 비인 간존재들도 자신들의 고유한 시점에서 지구와 우주를 바라보면서 세계를 경험한다. 즉 애니미즘은 자연을 성화(聖化)시켜 무조건 숭배하자는 것이 아니라 인간과 우주만물의 관계에 관한 사유체계이며 근저에는 대칭성의 세계관, 생태적 세계관이 자리하고 있 다. 극동 토착종족에게 우주만물은 사람인데 이들에게 사람은 고유한 시점을 가진 주 체적인 존재로서 종 상호 간 그리고 종을 횡단하여 관계맺음을 할 수 있는 능력을 가진 존재이다. 따라서 이들의 애니미즘적 사람관은 애니미즘을 관계생태학으로 재해석할 수 있는 가능성을 열어준다.
