This study aims to analyze the career maturity of multicultural adolescents and identify key influencing factors to propose tailored career and employment support strategies. An online career maturity assessment was conducted with 238 multicultural adolescents aged 1524, comparing career maturity levels between domestic-born and mid-immigrant adolescents, as well as general adolescents. The results indicated that mid-immigrant multicultural adolescents demonstrated lower career maturity than their domestic-born and general peers, with the largest gaps observed in the areas of “career exploration preparedness” and “knowledge about desired occupations.” Notably, mid-immigrant multicultural adolescents showed higher levels of career barriers. Furthermore, the findings revealed that Korean language proficiency among adolescents and their parents significantly impacted career maturity. Adolescents who identified themselves as “Korean” exhibited stronger abilities in career exploration and information utilization. Based on these findings, the study underscores the necessity for tailored career education programs for multicultural adolescents, family-centered Korean language and career support, experiential career exploration opportunities, and the establishment of structured support systems for early Korean language and cultural adaptation. These efforts are expected to enhance the career maturity and social integration of multicultural adolescents.

본 연구는 다문화청소년의 진로성숙도와 이에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인을 분석하여, 맞춤형 진로 및 취업 지원 방안을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 15~24세 다문화청소년 238명을 대상으로 온라인 진로성숙도 진단검사를 실시하였으며, 국내출생과 중도입국 다문화청소년 간, 그리고 일반 청소년과 비교하여 진로성숙도의 차이를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 중도입국 다문화청소년은 진로성숙도에서 국내출생 다문화청소년 및 일반 청소년보다 낮은 수준을 보였으며, 특히 ‘진로탐색 준비 행동’과 ‘희망 직업 지식’ 영역 에서 가장 큰 격차를 나타냈다. 특히 중도입국 다문화청소년의 진로장벽 요인이 높게 나타났다. 또한, 다문화청소년의 한국어 능력과 부모의 한국어 실력이 진로성숙도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 자기 정체성을 ‘한국인’으로 인식할수록 진로탐색 능력과 정보 활용 능력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 다문화청소년을 위한 맞춤형 진로교육 프로그램 개발, 가족 단위의 한국어 및 진로 지 원, 체계적인 진로탐색 경험 제공, 그리고 초기 한국어 및 문화 적응 지원 체계 구축의 필요성을 제안한다. 이를 통해 다문화청소년의 진로성숙도 향상과 사회 통합에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
