This paper examines the use of the color red in Pedro Almodóvar’s film and its pivotal role in conveying the protagonist’s psychological transformations and advancing the narrative. The study highlights how red not only enhances the emotional amplitude but also significantly contributes to the thematic exposition of the film. It explores the various emotional stages of fear, resolution, anger, aggression, dissolution, and sublimation represented by the color red, showcasing how these emotions are visually articulated through color usage.
This paper reveals that color in Almodóvar’s work transcends mere aesthetic elements, providing psychological depth and thematic complexity, and emphasizing themes such as female independence and empowerment. This analysis affirms the strategic importance of color in film production and theory, offering a deeper understanding of cinematic color use and its impact on narrative and viewer engagement.

본 연구는 페드로 알모도바르 감독의 영화 <휴먼보이스>에서 빨강 색채가 인물의내면성 반영과 내러티브 전개에 어떻게 중요한 역할을 하는지를 분석한다. 알모도바르의작품에서 빨강은 가장 대표적인 색채로, 그의 모든 영화 포스터에서도 핵심적인 색채로 시선을끈다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구는 색채가 감정의 강도와 주제 전달에 어떻게 기능하는지초점을 맞추고, 특히 빨강이 주인공의 두려움과 결단, 분노와 공격성, 소멸과 승화와 같은감정적 단계를 어떻게 시각적으로 표현하는지를 탐구한다. 또한, 색채가 단순히 미학적 요소를넘어 심리적이며 주제적인 깊이를 제공하며, 알모도바르가 제시하는 여성 주체의 독립과자립적 힘을 강조하는 점을 밝혀낸다. 이러한 측면에서 본 연구는 영화색채 사용에 대한심층적인 이해를 제공하고 영화 제작과 이론에서 색채의 전략적 중요성을 재조명한다.
