The purpose of this study is to explore the prejudices and perceptions of others about their use of Korean language experienced by student-athletes in college, to clarify the phenomenological meaning of this, and to clarify the essence. The following results were derived while data analysis and writing work were carried out at the same time as data collection. First, student-athletes experienced more than one prejudice from various people while living in school and athletic departments. Second, they had unpleasant experiences about their prejudice against the use of Korean language. Third, not only as student-athletes but also as general students, there were student-athletes who argued that they were not insufficient, and some students admitted that writing or presenting was not sufficient. Fourth, they argued that speaking was important for the leadership life with the necessary Korean language competencies in the future, and for the general public, writing competencies such as writing reports were important.

본 연구는 대학에 재학 중인 학생선수들이 경험한 자신의 국어사용에 관한 타인의 편견과 자신의 인식을 탐구하고 이것이 가지는 현상학적 의미를 밝히고, 본질을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 현상 학적 질적연구방법을 주된 연구 방법으로 채택하였다. 자료수집은 2023 년 3월부터 10월까지 문헌조사와 심층 면담을 통해 진행하였고 자료수 집과 동시에 자료분석과 글쓰기 작업을 진행하면서 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 학생선수들은 학교생활과 운동부 생활하면서 다양한 사람들로부터 한 가지 이상의 편견을 경험하였다. 둘째, 자신들의 국어 사용에 관한 편견에 대해 불쾌한 경험을 가지는 동시에 더욱 더 노력을 해야 하겠다는 반성을 하고 있었다. 셋째, 학생선수로서 뿐만 아니라 일 반 학생으로서도 부족하지 않다고 주장하는 학생선수도 있었고 글쓰기 나 발표하기는 부족하다고 인정하는 학생선수도 있었다. 넷째, 향후 필 요한 국어역량으로 지도자 생활을 위해서는 말하기를 그리고 일반인으 로서는 보고서 작성과 같은 글쓰기 역량이 중요하다고 주장하였다.
