This study focuses on developing a diagnostic tool to evaluate regional tourism transportation competitiveness, particularly emphasizing the transportation sector, which plays a crucial role in tourism journeys. Tourism transportation used by international tourists to reach their destinations is a critical factor that determines not only the vitalization of tourist destinations but also the success and competitiveness of regional tourism industries. Therefore, this study was conducted to develop diagnostic tools that can assess and improve tourism transportation competitiveness for each local government. Specifically, to develop indicators for evaluating regional tourism transportation competitiveness, expert evaluations were conducted through the Delphi method for each category. Notably, the study introduced a new evaluation method that combines the user perspective with the existing supplier perspective, moving beyond the fragmentary assessment approach previously used for tourism transportation. Through this, the study aims to propose a method to diagnose comprehensive regional tourism transportation competitiveness and easily identify priority areas for improvement to enhance competitiveness. The results of this study will enable local governments to identify elements requiring improvement in tourism transportation and strengthen tourism transportation infrastructure. From the perspective of the tourism industry, it will contribute to the overall development of the industry and the revitalization of regional tourism.

본 연구는 관광 여정에서 핵심적인 역할을 하는 교통 분야 특히 관광교통에 초점을 맞추어 지자체별 관광교통의 경쟁력을 평가하기 위한 진단도구를 개발하는 연구이다. 외국인 관광객이 관광목적지에 도착하기 위해 이용하는 관광 교통수단은 관광지의 활성화뿐만 아니라 지역 관광산업의 성공과 경쟁력에 있어 빠질 수 없는 결정적인 역할을 수행하는 항목이다. 따라서 본 연구는 지자체별 관광교통 경쟁력을 진단하고 개선할 수 있는 방안을 도출하기 위한 진단도구를 개발하기 위해 진행되었다. 구체적으로 지역별 관광교통 경쟁력을 평가하기 위한 지표를 개발하기 위해 델파이조사를 통해 항목별 전문가 평가를 진행하였다. 특히 지금까지 관광교통수단에 대하여 단편적으로 진단하던 평가 방식에서 벗어나 기존의 공급자 관점의 평가 방법에 새롭게 이용자 관점의 평가 방법을 결합하여 평가하기 위한 방법을 도입하였다. 이를 통해 지역별 종합적인 관광교통 경쟁력을 진단하고, 경쟁력 제고를 위해 어떤 점들을 우선적으로 개선해야 하는지를 손쉽게 확인하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 지자체는 관광교통 측면에서 개선이 필요한 요소를 파악하여 관광교통 인프라를 강화할 수 있을 것이며, 관광산업 측면에서는 산업 전반적인 발전에 기여하여 지역관광 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
