The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of marital life on depression in middle-aged women. The sample consisted of 3,446 women selected from the data of the 9th KLoWF based on their suitability for the research model. Statistical analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS 25.0 and included descriptive statistics, difference tests, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. Regression analysis was used to identify the factors influencing depression. Among the sociodemographic factors, health status had a significant impact. Perceptions of the husband and marital conflict—independent variables related to marriage and marital life—were significantly associated with depression. Specifically, a more positive perception of the husband and lower levels of marital conflict were linked to reduced depression. Based on these findings, the study proposes mental health support policies and the activation of couple relationship programs related to marriage and marital life.

본 연구는 중년여성의 결혼과 부부생활이 우울감에 미치는 영향을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 제9차 ｢여성가족패널조 사｣ 데이터 중 연구모형에 부합한 3,446명이다. 통계분석은 IBM SPSS 25.0을 이용해 기술통계, 차이검증, 상관관계 분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 인구사회학적 특성은 건강상태 와 부적 영향이 있었다. 독립변수인 결혼과 부부생활에 해당하는 남편에 대한 인식, 부부갈등이 우울감과 유의미한 영향이 있었다. 즉, 남편에 대한 인식이 긍정적일수록, 부부갈등 수준이 낮을수록 우울감이 감소 되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 중년여성의 우울감 감소를 위한 정신건강 지원 정책, 부부관계 프로그램 활성화에 대한 대안을 제시하였다.
