This study empirically analyzed the relationship among open innovation, network development, global value chain channel capabilities, and firm performance to identify the impact of open innovation on firm performance in small and medium-sized export manufacturing companies. To this end, a survey was conducted on 400 members of domestic small and medium-sized export manufacturing companies, and after verifying reliability and validity based on the collected data, hypothesis testing was performed using AMOS 28.0, SPSS 28.0, and SPSS Process Macro 3.1 utilizing the bootstrap method. The results of the study showed that open innovation in small and medium-sized export manufacturing companies had a positive (+) effect on firm performance. In addition, it was verified that the organization’s network development and global value chain channel capabilities had a mediating effect on the relationship between open innovation and firm performance and had a positive (+) effect. These results empirically showed that smooth implementation of open innovation is important to promote firm performance in small and medium-sized export manufacturing companies, and emphasized that various efforts and investments are necessary for this. In particular, it suggests that corporate activities through active network development and strengthening of global value chain channel capabilities to improve firm performance are important factors in creating performance for small and medium-sized export manufacturing companies.

본 연구는 중소기업의 개방형 혁신이 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 개방형 혁신, 네트워크 개발, 글로벌 가치사슬 채널 역량, 그리 고 기업성과 간의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 국내 중소기업의 구성원 400명을 분석에 사용하였고, 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 AMOS 28.0, SPSS 28.0으로 신뢰성과 타당성을 검증한 후 부트스트랩 방식을 활용한 SPSS Process Macro 3.1을 사용하여 가설검증을 수행하 였다. 연구 결과, 중소기업의 개방형 혁신은 기업성과에 긍정적인(+) 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 조직의 네트워크 개발과 글로벌 가 치사슬 채널 역량은 개방형 혁신과 기업성과 간의 관계에서 매개효과를 지니며 긍정적인(+) 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 연구 결 과는 중소기업의 기업성과를 촉진하기 위해 개방형 혁신의 원활한 실행이 중요하다는 점을 실증적으로 보여주었으며, 이를 위해 다양한 노력 과 투자가 필요함을 강조하고 있다. 특히, 기업성과를 향상하기 위해 적극적인 네트워크 개발과 글로벌 가치사슬 채널 역량 강화를 통한 기업 의 활동이 중소기업의 성과 창출에 중요한 요소임을 시사하고 있다.
