The Apostolic Tradition is a document that contains a detailed account of church life, ministry, and worship in the early third century A.D. It has been widely used as an exemplary resource for worship, including by the Liturgical Movement, and it is also a document that is seen by its proponents to represent traditional worship. In particular, the eucharistic prayer and liturgy contain solid Trinitarian theology and rich metaphors of Holy communion. At the time of its writing, the Apostolic Tradition made a significant contribution to the unity and protection of the church. It also shows the process of establishing a stable hierarchy of bishops, presbyters, and deacons, and includes resources for the education and training of church members. The value of the Apostolic Tradition is recognized in these ways among Christian communities, but additional objective analysis is required to apply the document's values more properly to the modern church. Considering the differences in social, political, and cultural circumstances between its contemporary context and ours, one should refrain from holding up the Apostolic Tradition as a source of current norms. This paper utilizes a postcolonial methodology to approach this analysis. From a postcolonial perspective, rather than blindly venerating or using documents from the past, I propose a dynamic view within the current situation using the concept of hybridity. Beyond the mere imitation of the heritage of the past, it should be critically inherited and developed through hermeneutical criticism. When diverse worship is encouraged with respect and hospitality, the Apostolic Tradition can serve as a starting point for the unity of the universal church and broader dialogue among communities, rather than as a means to enforce uniformity of worship.

『사도전승』(Apostolic Tradition)은 주후 3세기 초의 교회 생활과 직제, 그리고 예배에 대한 상세한 기록을 담은 중요한 문서다. 예전회복 운동을 비롯하여 현대의 예배에 일종의 모범적인 자료로 널리 사용되었고 전통적인 예배를 상징하는 문서이기도 하다. 특별히 성찬기도문 과예식은삼위일체신학과성찬식의풍성한메타포를담고있다.『사도전승』은 저술 당시 교회의 일치와 보호, 그리고 질서의 유지를 위해 유의미한 기여를 했다. 감독과 사제와 부제로 이루어진 안정된 직제의 확립 과정도 보여주며 철저한 교육과 훈련의 내용도 담고 있다. 『사도전승』의 가치를 높이 평가하되 현대의 교회를 위해 객관적인 분석과 적용이 요구된다. 사회, 정치, 문화적 상황이 다름을 감안하여 『사도전승』에 대한 규범화를 지양해야 할 것이다. 이 논문은 탈식민주 의 방법론을 사용하여 이 문서를 다룬다. 『사도전승』을 맹목적으로 추 앙하거나 무비판적으로 사용하기보다 현재의 상황과의 혼종 (hybridity)을 통해 활용해야 할 것이다. 과거의 유산에 대한 단순한 모 방을 넘어 해석학적 탈고를 통해 비판적으로 계승 발전시켜야 할 것이다. 이렇듯 존중과 환대로 다양한 예배를 독려할 때『사도전승』은 예배의 획일화를 위한 수단이 아닌 보편적 교회의 일치를 위한 출발점이자 공동체 사이의 폭넓은 대화를 돕는 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.
