With the implementation of the 2022 Revised Curriculum, which seeks to drive innovation in education through digital technologies, moral education now faces the challenge of integrating digital and AI technologies into its teaching methods. In response, this study proposed using ChatGPT, a representative generative AI model, in moral education. To achieve this, the study first identified activities such as "generating prompts" and "reviewing responses" based on the functional characteristics of ChatGPT as methods for its application in moral education. Then, by analyzing pre-developed AI-based teaching and learning models, including ChatGPT, the study proposed a teaching and learning procedure consisting of six stages: “confirming and understanding, planning, exploring and reviewing, discussing the results, completing the task, reflecting”. The study presented specific activities for students and teachers, categorized by whether ChatGPT was used, in each stage of the procedure, in relation to the previously mentioned identified activities. The results of this study are expected to guide the appropriate use of ChatGPT in moral education and provide a foundation for future related research.

디지털 기반 교육 혁신을 추구하는 2022 개정 교육과정의 적용을 앞 두고 도덕과 교육은 디지털‧AI 기술을 활용한 교수‧학습 방안을 마련 해야 하는 과제를 부여받게 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 대표적 생성형 AI 모델인 ChatGPT를 도덕과 교수‧학습 과정에 활용하는 방안을 제시했 다. 이를 위해 먼저 ChatGPT의 기능적 특징에 기반해 도덕과 교육에 서의 활용 방식으로 ‘프롬프트의 생성하기’, ‘답변 점검하기’ 활동을 도 출했다. 이어서 기개발된 ChatGPT 등 AI를 활용하는 교수‧학습 모형 을 분석해 ‘확인‧이해, 계획수립, 탐색‧검토, 결과 논의, 과제 완성, 성 찰’의 단계로 구성된 도덕과 교수‧학습 절차를 제안하고 앞서의 활용방식과 관련한 학생 및 교사 활동을 ChatGPT 활용 여부와 함께 단계 별로 제시했다. 본 연구는 도덕과 교육에서 ChatGPT의 올바른 활용 방법을 안내하고 추후 관련 연구의 기반을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
