The purpose of this study is to present an educational method for non-major students to enhance their ability to create poetry in liberal arts classes and further achieve the effect of poetry healing. This study is the result of conducting a poetry writing class with 29 college students from different majors during the first semester. Due to long-term cramming education, most students showed interest in analyzing the meaning of poetry and finding the intention of poetry from the beginning. However, in the case of students who learn poetry for the first time, poetry must be a means of expressing themselves to be interested, and creative expression methods can be actively sought. To this end, two methods of poetry writing, 'creative poetry' and 'follow the existing poetry', were freely opened to students as a task of poetry writing, and the process by which students came to prefer creative poetry was analyzed. Then, after the semester was over, a survey was conducted to analyze the students' attitudes toward poetry and the healing effects obtained through creative poetry. As a result, it was confirmed that in order to make students who are not interested and interested in poetry interested in poetry in university liberal arts classes, they should first recognize that poetry is connected to them and comfortably reveal themselves, and focus on forming a consensus with instructors.

본 연구는 교양 수업에서 비전공 학생들도 시 창작을 할 수 있는 능력을 키우고, 시가 치유의 효과까지 얻게 하기 위한 교육 방법을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 전공이 다른 대학생 29명을 대상으로 한 학기 동안 진행한 시 쓰기 수업의 결과물이다. 대학생 전공을 불문하고 학생 대다수는 오랜 주입식 교육으로 인해 처음부터 시의 의미를 분석하고 시인의 의도 찾기에 집중하는 모습을 보였다. 그러나 시는 자신을 표현하는 수단이 되어야 관심이 생기고 창의적인 표현 방법도 적극적으로 모색하게 된다. 이에 필자는 학생들의 시 쓰기 과제로 ‘창작시’와 ‘기존 시 베끼기’라는 두 가지 방식을 자유롭게 열어두고 학생들이 창작시를 더 선호하게 되는 과정을 분석했다. 그리고 학기가 끝난 후에는 설문조사를 실시하고 학생들이 시를 대하는 자세 변화와 창작시를 통해 얻은 치유 효과를 분석했다. 그 결과 대학의 교양과목으로 진행하는 시 수업에서 전혀 관심이 없는 학생들이 시에 관심을 갖고 흥미를 느끼도록 하기 위해서는 먼저 시가 자신과 연계되어 있다는 것을 인지하고, 자기를 편하게 드러내는 수단이 되어야 하며, 교수자와의 공감대 형성에 초점을 맞춰야 한다는 유의미한 결과를 확인했다.
