This study analyzed changes in media coverage of the intelligence police, focusing on identifying key keywords and classifying topics to understand the temporal trends and directions of public perception towards the intelligence police today. Using the BigKinds big data analysis system, we analyzed keyword trends for 'intelligence police' over the past 10 years in 12 major national daily newspapers and conducted a co-occurrence analysis to visualize highly related keywords. Furthermore, we categorized the characteristics of each period based on intelligence police reforms into pre-reform, reform progress, and post-reform stages. The results revealed that while there was a difference in frequency between progressive and conservative media, both sides viewed the intelligence police through the lens of surveillance and checks and balances. Additionally, the public and media perspectives on the intelligence police remained largely negative. Therefore, we conclude that it is necessary to continue efforts to alleviate public concerns about the intelligence police and foster positive discourse such as the dialog policing system, which facilitates peaceful assemblies and demonstrations, and preventive intelligence.

본 연구는 오늘날 정보경찰에 관한 사회적 인식의 흐름과 방향을 통시적 관점에서 파악하기 위해 정보경찰 관련 기사의 주요키워드가 무엇이며, 어떤주제로분류되는지 등 언론보도 변화를 분석하였다. 빅카인즈 빅데이터 분석시스템을 활용하여 최근 10년 간 전국 중앙 일간지 12곳 대상으로 ‘정보경찰’에 대하여 키워드 트렌드를 분석하고, 연 관성 높은 키워드를 시각화하는 연관어 분석을 하였다. 또한, 정보경찰 개혁을 기준으 로 시기별 특징을 구분하여 개혁 이전, 진행기, 성숙기로 구분하였다. 연구결과, 정보경 찰에 관한 언론보도는 진보･보수 언론 간 빈도의 차이는 있지만 양측 모두 정보경찰을 감시와 견제의 프레임에서 바라본다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 정보경찰에 대한 언론과 사회 일반의 관점은 여전히 부정적 이미지 위주였다. 이에 정보경찰에 대한 국 민의우려를불식시키기 위한 노력을 지속하고 평화적 집회시위를 돕는대화경찰제, 예 방적 정보활동 등 긍정적 담론 형성이 필요함을 결론으로 제시하였다.
