This study conducted an in-depth interview to understand the characteristics and meaning of the leadership of small scale middle school in a farming, mountain and fishing village. As a result of this study, "insight leadership', "trust leadership', and "sharing leadership' were found to be the leadership of the principal A, a small scale middle school in a farming, mountain and fishing village. In the "insight leadership' type, "students in need of care', "teachers in need of psychological support', and "the real principal is the leader' appeared. And the types of "trust leadership' were "authenticity', "trustworthy principal', and "relationship rather than work'. The types of "sharing leadership' were "philosophy sharing', "vision sharing', and "sharing hearts'. The following implications are presented. First, time for group counseling should be prepared to reflect the actual situation in the qualification training for the principal and vice principal. Second, it is necessary to cultivate leadership for all teachers according to the times and circumstances in small-scale middle schools that continue to increase. Third, the leadership of the principal should be expanded not only to teachers but also to students, parents, and local communities.

본 연구는 농산어촌 소규모 중학교 교장 리더십의 특징과 의미를 파악하고자 심층면담을 하였다. 본 연구 결과 농산어촌 소규모 중학교인 A교장의 리더십으로 ‘통찰력 리더십’, ‘신뢰 리더십’, ‘나눔 리더십’이 나타났다. ‘통찰력 리더십’유형에는 ‘돌봄이 필요한 학생들’, ‘심리지 원이 필요한 교사들’, ‘진짜 교장은 리더’의 모습이 나타났고, ‘신뢰 리더십’유형에는 ‘진정성’, ‘믿음 가는 교장’, ‘업무보다는 관계’로 나타났다. ‘나눔 리더십’유형에는 ‘철학나눔’, ‘비전나 눔’, ‘마음나누기’로 나타났으며, 다음의 시사점을 제시한다. 첫째, 교장과 교감 자격연수에 실 제 상황이 반영되도록 집단상담의 시간이 마련되어야 한다. 둘째, 계속 늘어나는 소규모 중학 교에서 시대와 상황에 맞게 모든 교원에게 리더십 함양이 필요하다. 셋째, 학교장의 리더십이 교사뿐만 아니라 학생, 학부모, 지역사회로 확대되어야 한다.
