Global solidarity is a concept that has recently gained traction in bioethics about health inequalities in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper aims to present the theoretical foundations of global solidarity. Global solidarity expands the radius of solidarity from the individual to the community level because it is appropriate for the characteristics of emerging infectious diseases and for the good that humanity wants to flourish. To do so, this paper first identifies the lack of solidarity discussions in existing bioethics debates, and then explains McIntyre's vulnerability as an appropriate concept of global solidarity for bioethics.

최근 코로나19 팬데믹 상황을 지나면서 생명의료윤리에서 건강 불평등과 관련된 전지구 적 연대성(global solidarity) 개념이 주목받고 있다. 본 논문은 신종 감염병 맥락에서 전지 구적 연대성의 이론적 토대를 제시하고자 한다. 전지구적인 연대는 개인 차원 내지 공동체 차원에서 다루어지던 연대 개념의 반경을 확장하는 것이며, 이러한 반경의 확장은 신종 감 염병이 지닌 특징에 적합할 뿐만 아니라 인류가 번성하고 싶어하는 좋음에도 부합하기 때 문이다. 이러한 접근을 위해서 기존의 생명의료윤리 논의에서 연대성 논의가 부족함을 밝 힌 후, 생명의료윤리에 적합한 전지구적인 연대성을 매킨타이어(Alasdair MacIntyre)의 취 약성으로 해명하고자 한다.
