It is not an exaggeration to say that the 'Hangeul' character is the most Korean cultural heritage in terms of what is most Korean is world-class. Therefore, the 『Hunminjeongeum』Haerye is considered important in that it explained the principle of the creation of Hanguel as the first Korean manual. In addition, it is more important because the philosophical principle of the creation of Hanguel is contained in the Hanguel font of the 『Hunminjeongeum』Haerye, which was presented as a standard for Hanguel font. The philosophical principles of the creation of Hanguel is the metaphysical principles for the discipline of the creation, change, and development of natural phenomena in the universe. This is the principle of life to life in all things emphasized in the philosophy of 易 and is not revealed but secretly inherent. Just as Bok-hee encoded the principles of natural phenomena in guà xiàng(卦象), King Sejong abstracted these principles and secretly contained them in Hunminjeongeum font. Historical calligraphers asserted that the will of life to life should be taken from the appearance of nature in creating, changing and developing according to this principle of life to life and revealed in calligraphy. This thought is the same as the subject of Korean aesthetic scholars discussing Korean beauty. This study is about how the philosophical principles of the creation of Hanguel were expressed as aesthetic consciousness in Hunminjeongeum font, the first form of Hanguel characters, and what kind of distictive character it has, and what aesthetic meaning it has. In contrast to the Hanguel typeface of the regular shape, which consists of a thick and straight strokes without change, the Chinese character typeface of the irregular shape has a distinctive style. Between these two fonts, calligraphic elements such as changes in the thickness of the stroke, the shapes of the stroke, the structure and the letter, movement and station of spirit, etc were compared and analyzed in a formative, handwriting technique, and calligraphy aesthetics. The conflict and correlation relationship were revealed through the unique style of Hunminjeongeum font and Chinese characters. On 『Hunminjeongeum』Haerye, the yin and tender(陰柔) Chinese characters play a background role, and the yang and strong(陽剛) Hunminjeongeum type has an effect of main character, leading orphical fusion in two types. This completely abstracted and revealed the principle of creating Hunminjeongeum font, the metaphysical principle of impartiality( 中正), while expressing the harmonious phenomenon of yin and yang in nature. Through this, it was possible to find out the excellence of the production of the 『Hunminjeongeum』Haerye and the artistry contained in it.

가장 한국적인 것이 세계적인 것이라는 측면에서 ‘한글’은 가장 한국적인 문 화유산이라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 『훈민정음』해례본은 최초의 한글 설명서로서 한 글 창제의 원리를 설명했다는 점에서 중요하게 여겨진다. 그뿐만 아니라 한글 서체의 典範이자 標準으로 제시된 『훈민정음』해례본의 한글 서체, 즉 훈민정음체에 한글 창 제의 철학적 원리가 담겨 있어서 더욱 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 한글 창제의 철학적 원리는 우주 자연 현상의 생성·변화 발전 규율에 관한 형이상학적 원리이다. 이것은 易철학에서 강조하는 만물 만상의 生生之理이며 밖으로 드러나지 않고 은밀하게 내재하는 것이다. 복희씨가 자연 현상의 이치를 卦象으로 부호화한 것처럼, 세종대왕은 이러한 원리를 추상하여 훈민정음체에 담아냈다. 역대 서예가들은 이러한 生生之理에 따라 생성·변화 발전하는 자연의 모습에서 生生之意를 취하여 서예에 드러내야 한다고 주장했다. 이러한 사유는 한국미학자들이 한국미에 대해서 논하는 주제와도 같다. 본 연구는 최초의 한글 문자형태인 ‘훈민정음체’에 한글 창제의 철학적 원리가 어떻게 심미의식으로 발현되었는지, 그래서 어떠한 풍격미가 있는지, 그리고 미학적 의미가 무엇인지에 관한 것이다. 변화가 많은 곡선 획으로 이루어진 非定型의 한자 서체는 변화가 없고 厚重한 직선 획으로 구성된 定型의 한글 서체(훈민정음체)와 대조적인 풍격미를 발한다. 이 두 서체 간에 획의 굵기 변화, 획의 형태, 결구와 글자 외형의 형태, 氣勢의 動ㆍ靜등, 서예적 요소를 조형적ㆍ서사 기법적ㆍ서예 미학적으로 접근하여 비교하고 분석하였다. 훈민정음체와 한자 서체의 독특한 풍격을 통해 상반·상성 관계를 밝혔다. 『훈민정음』해례본에 陰柔的인 한자 서체는 後景的역할을 하고 陽剛的인 훈민정음체는 前景的효과를 갖게 되면서 두 서체가 妙融하게 된다. 이로써 中正의 형이상학적 원리인 훈민정음 창제 원리를 오롯이 추상하여 드러내면서도 자연의 음과 양의 조화로운 현상을 표현했다. 이를 통해 『훈민정음』해례본 제작의 우수성과 그에 담긴 예술성을 알아볼 수 있다.
