Artificial intelligence (AI) is entering deeply into people's daily lives as a topic of scientific and technological development in the present era. This study is an attempt to use Generative AI in Korean language education. This study presented a real class process in which AI was applied to a course opened for foreign learners majoring in Korean language culture at a university in Korea to improve foreign learners’ Korean proficiency and build up methods of using AI that would be used inevitably in future social life. First, through a theoretical review, the possibility of using artificial intelligence technology and the basis of artificial intelligence for education were examined. And This paper showed the reality of Korean language classes using artificial intelligence models such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Clova. Specifically, the reality of applying AI to Korean language classes using media materials such as newspaper editorials and articles, TV news, and YouTube videos was presented. The evaluation of the course applying AI was made by conducting quantitative analysis through surveys answered by the learners and qualitative analysis through impressions written by some learners. Overall, learners answered that using AI is convenient to learn and helps them improve their Korean competence. They responded that learning how to use AI is helpful in preparing for the future because it is necessary to use it for future social life. They also said they should be wary of relying too much on it, and they wanted the instructor to specifically suggest ways to use it so that the learners can use AI appropriately in the course of the class.

인공지능은 현시대에서 과학 기술 발전의 화두로 사람들의 일상생활에 깊숙하게 진 입하고 있다. 이 연구는 생성형 AI를 한국어 교육에 활용하려는 시도이다. 이 연구는 한국 내 대학교에서 한국언어문화를 전공하는 외국인 학습자를 대상으로 진행되는 교 과목에 AI를 적용하여 외국인 학습자의 한국어 구사력을 향상하면서, 동시에 장래 사 회생활 속에서 필연적으로 사용하게 될 AI를 활용하는 방법을 미리 쌓는 실제 수업 과 정을 제시했다. 먼저 이론적 검토를 통해, 인공지능 기술과 인공지능을 교육에 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 살펴보았다. 그리고 챗GPT, Copilot, Clova와 같은 인공지능 모델을 활용하여 한국어 수업의 실제를 보였다. 구체적으로는 신문의 사설과 기사, TV 뉴스, 유튜브 동영상 등 미디어 자료를 활용한 한국어 수업에서 AI를 적용하여 수업 활동을 진행하는 실제를 제시했다. 그리고 AI를 적용한 수업에 대한 평가는 학습자가 답한 설 문조사를 통한 양적 분석과 학습자들이 작성한 소감문을 통한 질적 분석을 진행하여 이루어졌다. 전체적으로 학습자들은 AI를 활용하면 학습이 편리하며 한국어 실력을 높 이는 데 도움이 된다고 답했다. 장래 사회생활을 하는 데 AI 활용이 필요하기에 그 활 용 방법을 익히는 것이 미래를 준비하는 데 도움이 된다고 응답했다. 또한 이에 지나치 게 의존하는 것도 경계해야 한다고 답했으며, 학습자가 수업 과정에서 AI를 적절하게 사용할 수 있게 교수자가 구체적으로 활용 방법을 제시해 주기를 원했다.
