It was intended to correct the bias of the original ideology of The Chosunnongminsa activities as they were treated as a ‘reformist’ peasant movement. This study seeks to define the characteristic of The Joseonnongminsa in the Gyeongnam-do as ‘anarchism.’ The Chosunnongminsa was established in 1925 and contributed greatly to the podeok activities of Chondogyo. However, The Chosunnongminsa was mainly concentrated in the northern Korea, such as Pyeongan-do and Hamgyeong-do, and research activities on it were mainly limited to the northern Korea. The Chosunnongminsa activities in the Gyeongnam-do, which is the subject of this study, were relatively active, but the reality was not properly known. The content of this study focuses on The Chosunnongminsa activities centered on the Gyeongnam-do and examines its activities in each region, including Tongyeong, Changnyeong, Sancheong, Namhae, Dongrae, Sacheon, and Jinju. This year marks the 120th anniversary of the Gapzin Enlightened Reform Movement(甲辰改革運動) and the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Great Master Su-un, so Chondogyo must have the right direction of activity to restore its historical and social influence. The results of this study, which found that The Chosunnongminsa activities were based on anarchism, will contribute to reconstructing the ideological direction of future activities in Chondogyo and its affiliated organizations.

조선농민사 활동이 ‘개량적’ 농민운동으로 취급되어 조선농민사 활동의 본래 이념이 편향된 것을 바로 잡고자 했다. 이 연구는 경남지역의 조선농민사의 특성을 ‘아나키즘’이라고 규정하고자 한다. 조선농민사는 1925년 설립되어 천도교의 포덕활동에 크게 기여하였다. 그러나 조선농민사는 주로 평안도, 함경도 등 이북지역에 집중되었고, 이에 대한 연구활동 역시 주로 이북지역에 한정되었다. 이 연구의 주제인 경남지역의 조선농민사활동은 비교적 활발했으나, 그 실상은 제대로 알려져 있지 않았다. 본 연구의 내용은 경남지역을 중심으로 한 조선농민사 활동에 초점을 맞추어 통영, 창녕, 산청, 남해, 동래, 사천, 진주 등 각 지역별로 조선농민사 활동을 살펴보았다. 올해는 갑진개혁운동 120주년, 수운대신사 출세 200년으로 천도교는 역사적 사회적 영향력 회복을 위해 올바른 활동 방향성을 가져야 할 것이다. 조선농민사 활동이 아나키즘에 근거했다는 이 연구의 결과는 천도교와 천도교 산하단체 등에서, 앞으로 활동의 이념적 방향성을 재구성하는 데 기여하게 될 것이다.
