The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of stress and self-esteem on the relationship between child abuse and negative emotional development. To achieve this, the study analyzed the third wave of data from the 2020 Regional Child Center Panel Survey conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute, targeting 497 participants. The analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling with SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 24.0, and the statistical significance of indirect effects was confirmed through bootstrap analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, the effect of child abuse on negative emotional development was not statistically significant. Second, child abuse was found to influence negative emotions through the mediation of stress. Third, the pathway in which child abuse affects negative emotional development via self-esteem was statistically significant. Fourth, stress and self-esteem were found to fully mediate the effect of child abuse on negative emotional development. Based on these findings, practical and policy alternatives were suggested, such as improving coping strategies for stress-inducing situations and enhancing self-esteem, in psychological education programs and counseling processes for children experiencing difficulties due to child abuse.

본 연구의 목적은 아동학대와 부정적 정서발달의 관계에서 스트레스와 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2020년 청소년정책연구원의 지역아동센터 아동패널조사 3차 자료 중 497명을 SPSS 25.0과 AMOS 24.0을 활용하여 구조방정식 모델로 측정모형과 구조모형을 분석하고, 간접효과의 통계적 유의성은 부 트스트랩 분석으로 확인하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 아동학대가 부정적 정서발달에 미치는 영향은 통계적으로 유 의하지 않았다. 둘째, 아동학대가 스트레스를 매개로 부정적 정서에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아 동학대가 자아존중감을 매개로 부정적 정서발달에 미치는 경로가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 넷째, 스트레스와 자아존중감은 아동학대가 부정적 정서발달에 미치는 영향을 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토 대로 아동학대로 어려움을 겪고 있는 아동들을 대상으로 한 심리교육 프로그램 및 상담 과정에서 부정적 정서 를 유발시킨 스트레스 상황에 대한 대처방식 그리고 자아존중감의 향상 등 실천적이고 정책적 측면의 대안을 제언하였다.
