Worship is a conversation between God and humans. Culture is both a process and a result of human activity. It is a world of values inherited, invented, pursued, or acquired by people. Human cultural understanding is absolutely critical to responding appropriately to God's search for us in the narrative of salvation. However, culture, a tool for communicating with God, has been interpreted as an object of conflict, unity, paradox, and transformation in various situational contexts. This paper seeks to find a worship model with a balance between worship and culture in order to restore the essence of worship and expand congregational adaptation and participation in worship in a rapidly changing culture that is reminiscent of a 'worship war'. Such efforts to renew worship necessarily require analysis of the correlation between worship and culture, cultural translation, and cultural transformation. Worship directed to God, who is inevitably a culturally transcendent being, is expressed in culturally intrinsic content and form. And that fact was revealed by the incarnation of Christ. In that respect, the analysis of the relationship between worship and culture aims for the unification of transcendence and immanence, and conducts continuous communication to pursue a balance between worship theology and cultural theology. This research project is expected to contextualize transcultural worship into culturalization, achieve cultural transformation by transforming culture into worship, and expand cultural exchanges aimed at the unity of the universal church. The Nairobi Declaration is evaluated as a model that calls for an appropriate balance in the relationship between worship and culture. Based on the conditions of the correlation between worship and culture expressed in the Nairobi Declaration, this paper proposes blended worship, a form of ancient-modern convergence, as a model as part of the search for alternative worship in the modern era.Therefore, first, we will examine Robert Weber's understanding of worship, then analyze the direction of blended worship he proposes in light of the Nairobi Declaration and verify its appropriateness. And I hope that it can be a small stepping stone in finding a way to transform the current situation of ‘war’ in the context of culture in the church community into the mystery of ‘reform’ and ‘renewal’ through worship.

예배는 하나님과 인간 사이의 대화이다. 문화는 인간 활동의 과정이자 결과이다. 사람들에게서 물려받았거나 고안해 냈거나 추구하거나 획득된 가치의 세계이다. 인간 의 문화적 이해력은 구원의 내러티브 속에서 우리를 찾으시는 하나님께 적절히 응답 하는데 절대적으로 중요하다. 하지만 하나님과 의사소통하는 도구인 문화는 다양한 상황적 맥락 속에서 갈등, 일치, 역설, 변혁의 대상으로 해석되었다. 이 논문은 급변하 는 문화 속에서 ‘예배 전쟁’을 방불케 하는 상황이 초래되는 가운데 예배의 본질을 회 복하고 예배에 대한 회중의 적응과 참여를 확대하고자 예배와 문화의 균형을 갖춘 예 배모델을 찾아 분석하고자 하였다. 이 같은 예배 갱신의 노력에는 반드시 예배와 문 화의 상관관계의 분석, 문화번역, 문화변혁을 요구한다. 필연 문화 초월적 존재인 하 나님께로 향하는 예배가 문화 내재적인 내용과 형식으로 표현된다는 사실은 그리스도 의 성육신 사건에 의해 계시되었다. 그 점에서 예배와 문화의 관계 분석은 초월과 내 재의 통일을 지향하는 예배신학과 문화신학의 균형을 추구하는 지속적인 커뮤니케이 션의 수행이다. 이러한 연구과제는 문화 초월적 예배를 문화화로 상황화하고, 문화를 예배화하여 문화적 변혁을 이뤄, 우주적 교회의 하나 됨을 지향하는 문화교류를 확장 할 것을 기대한다. 나이로비 선언문은 예배와 문화의 이 같은 관계의 균형을 적절히 요구하는 모델로 평가된다. 논문은 나이로비 선언문에 나타난 예배와 문화의 상관관계의 조건을 기준하여 현시대의 대안적 예배 모색의 일환으로 고대-현대의 수렴 형태 인 블랜디드 예배를 하나의 모델로 제안한다. 따라서 먼저 로버트 웨버의 예배 이해 를 살핀 후 그가 제안하는 블랜디드 예배의 방향을 나이로비 선언문에 비추어 분석하 고 그 적절성을 검증해 볼 것이다. 그리고 작금에 교회 공동체에서 문화의 맥락에서 빚어지는 ‘전쟁’의 상황을 예배를 통해서 ‘개혁’과 ‘갱신’의 신비로 전환할 수 있는 길 을 찾아 나아가는 작은 디딤돌이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
