The purpose of this study is to propose justification for introducing instant replay based on scientification for the just judgment of free Poomsae in Taekwondo competitions. For this purpose, the investigator conducted an in-depth interview with five individuals in total including two players, one standing referee, and two instructors. The findings were as follows: the research participants identified two groups of judgment issues in free Poomsae competitions: the first group concerned the competence of referees, the absence of criteria in detailed difficulty levels for each technique, biased judgments according to regionalism and school connections, and judges below the qualification standards. The second group was concerned with the competition rules, forbidden appeals for technical scores, negative perceptions of appeals, and disadvantages involving appeals. The study then discussed the justification for introducing instant replay in Taekwondo competitions. First, instant replay will make biased judgments disappear and correct kick technique judgments that are hard to discern through deciphering. Secondly, instant replay will remove the negative viewpoint of appeals and replace distrust with trust in judgments by referees by capturing their errors legitimately. These findings confirm the need for introducing instant replay for fair and transparent Taekwondo competitions based on scientification, demonstrating that the introduction of instant replay is an irreversible procedure in the addition of Taekwondo free Poomsae to the list of the Olympic events and its globalization and has become an essential device to prevent bad calls by referees and secure their fairness.

이 연구는 태권도 자유품새의 판정 공정성을 확보하기 위해 비디오 판독 도입에 관한 필요성을 제시하기 위한 목적 으로 수행하였다. 따라서 선수 2명과, 심판 1명, 지도자 2명으로 총 5명을 구성하여 심층면담을 실시한 결과 다음과 같이 도출하였다. 자유품새 경기에 관련된 판정 문제로 첫째, 심판의 역량, 각 기술별 세부적인 난도의 척도 미비, 학연, 지연에 따른 편파판정, 자격기준 미달로 나타났으며 둘째, 경기규정, 기술 점수에 대한 이의제기 불가, 소청에 대한 부정적 인식, 소청에 따른 불이익 등이 나타났다. 아울러 비디오 판독 도입에 대한 필요성으로는 첫째, 편파 판정과 심판의 권리가 사라 질 것이다. 둘째,식별하기 힘든 기술 발차기도 판독을 통해 판정을 정정할 수 있다. 셋째, 소청에 대한 부당한 시선에서 벗어날 수 있을 것이며 정당하게 심판의 오류를 바로잡아 신뢰하는 판정으로 바뀔 것이다. 이와같은 결과는 과학화에 힘입 어 공정하고 투명한 경기로 비디오 판독을 도입해야 하며, 태권도 자유품새의 올림픽 진출과 세계화 겨냥에 있어 비디오 판독의 도입은 거스를 수 없는 절차이며, 심판의 오심을 차단하고 공정성을 확보하기 위한 필수 장치가 될 것이다.
